Q: There’s a guy preaching the end of the world will be this year. Do you think it is that close?
A: No, you can be certain the End of the World definitely won’t come this year, (2020) but don’t take my word for that… take God’s.
The LORD gave the prophet Daniel glimpses of the End Times in which we now live, but I counsel you to avoid the Eschatology ‘escalator’, because it always descends to the “spiritual basement”.
Instead, be occupied doing what The LORD Jesus Christ commanded us to do until He returns.
That will truly elevate both you, and the sinners you assist.
To answer your point concisely; The End of the World can’t come this year (2020) because; there must first be the Rapture of believers.
‘Rapture’ is Christian jargon for what Titus 2:13 calls the “blessed hope“, and the First Letter to the Thessalonians chapter four, terms “caught up together“.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thess. 4:14-18 KJV
Once believers have been plucked from this cess-pit of vanity, selfishness, and rebellion, called the world, then the AntiChrist will be revealed and, by subterfuge, briefly take authority over the nations for “a time and a half” (Dan. Ch. 12, Rev. Ch. 12.)
That’s three and a half years by our calendar.
Then follows The Great Tribulation for three and a half years, during which incidentally, the current Corona virus circus will seem like a teddy-bears’ picnic in comparison, and then The Second Coming of Christ, and End of the World.
You notice, the rapture of believers must occur seven years before the End of the World.
The Holy Bible teaches believers ought to be attentive, anticipating the rapture, the appearing of The LORD, so we realise that could occur anytime… today, or tomorrow.
We’re ready… Come LORD!
Understand that the “appearing of the LORD” (1 Tim. 6:14, Tit. 2:13, 1 Pe. 1:7) is a different event from His “Second Coming”, the physical return of the LORD to Earth.
Seek the LORD in your prayer closet, and as you read His written word, attending to the Holy Ghost, He’ll give you insight and wisdom, whilst you are…
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
