Why Suicide is a short-cut to Hell
Q: Why do you say that those who commit suicide are self-murderers? Neil
A: Because that is the truth about suicide.
Intentionally killing yourself has always been termed self-murder, the word “suicide” only became fashionable since the 18th. century.
The phrase self-murder is a long-established term for suicide: You will find it listed, with that sole meaning, in all good English dictionaries. Even the current American Webster’s dictionary defines it unequivocally;
self-murder: Another term for suicide.
It is as valid an expression as; self-condemned, self-centred, self-deluded, and its antonym; self-defence.
You will find self-murder, meaning suicide, used in classic novels written by; Charles Dickens, Henry Fielding, and numerous other authors.
Can you murder yourself?
Followers of Humanist religion such as “Atheists” ignorantly claim that you cannot logically murder yourself: They are wrong: That is precisely what suicide is, both in secular and biblical situations.
Here’s why;
Creator, Maker, Author of Life
You didn’t create yourself, you belong to your Creator: Almighty God.
Those who choose to deny that fact, fail to change it. Facts are stubborn, aren’t they?
God gave The Ten Commandments through His Prophet Moses, the sixth being;
Thou shalt not kill. Ex. 20:13 and Deut. 5:17 KJV
That is why none of us has the right to kill ourselves.
God came and bought you
Neither Jew, Gentile, sinner or saint has the moral or legal right to terminate their own life.
This becomes obvious when one is born of God, and has realised the enormous cost God paid to redeem us from eternal death.
God in the Flesh paid the full price for each life: With His own.
Our lives do not belong to us. Whether you realise it or not: Your life belongs to Almighty God, not you.
Christians are very conscious of this Bible fact, 1 Co. 6:19-20 KJV;
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The Creator of mankind owns sinner and saint alike: He bought them with His Blood.
The Precious Blood of Jesus
The Holy Ghost reminds believers they were redeemed, 1 Pe. 1:19 KJV;
…with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Christ has paid the ransom to redeem the life of every person: That Bible fact is the very heart of the Gospel.
Believers have accepted and received their redemption through Christ.
Sinners continue to reject the redemption God offers them in Christ.
Believers are forgiven, blessed, Heaven-bound, and they know it.
Unbelievers and doubters remain condemned, under wrath, captive to sin, spiritually blind, and doomed to Hell.
My life: My way: My choice?
People who do not know God personally, claim that they have the right to kill themselves. They think they can choose when to die. They are seduced into error by the Deceiver of souls. It is arrogance, a fatal presumption: Sin.
None of us has the right to kill ourselves: Not sinners, not Christians.
Only God decides when we die.
Christ Laid down His Life for You
That is why, when The LORD Jesus Christ was led of the Holy Ghost to go to Jerusalem to be crucified, He required God’s permission to lay down His Life. Father granted it so that you and I could be saved, set free from sin, guilt, death, and Hell. Jn. 10:17-18 KJV;
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
What happens to Murderers?
To murder, means to kill a person deliberately, and illegally. Those who kill themselves by their own choice are therefore self-murderers.
Christ emphasised the gravity of murder, Matt. 5:21-22 KJV;
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Watch your mouth; it has the power of life and death, and you will be judged by Christ for what you say and do.
How much more deadly then is suicide; choosing to deny Christ, deny His Lordship, deny His salvation and purpose as Saviour, and rejecting His offer of eternal Life.
No murderer has eternal life, or enters Heaven.
Don’t do it.
Suicide is self-murder, a trap-door into Hell.
That is why the risen Christ uttered these words, Rev. 21:7-8 KJV;
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
From the Glory Christ repeated this warning in the final chapter of the Holy Bible Rev. 22:14-16 KJV
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Choose Life: Receive Christ as LORD, and the Truth will set you free.
