The Use of Anointing Oil
Q: Can anyone anoint with anointing oil, or are only specific people supposed to use it? Amanda
A: Every believer is called to Christ as His follower and disciple; to learn from Him, and fulfil His will on Earth today.
Are You a Believer?
Part-time “Christians” are merely fooling themselves, Mtt. 16:24-25 KJV;
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Christ has no use for the half-hearted, Mtt. 28:18-20 KJV;
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
No use for the luke-warm, Rev. 3:15-16 KJV;
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
No use for the fearful and cowardly, Rev. 21:6-8 KJV;
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
His first disciples preached repentance, and used anointing oil on many who believed, Mk. 6:12-13 KJV;
And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
That exact same ministry is for every believer in Christ today.

Every believer has the Name of Jesus to use, and access to all the resources of His Kingdom, one thing He asks… Only Believe!
Only Church Elders?
I suspect you put the question, “Can anyone anoint with anointing oil, or are only specific people to use it?” because you’ve read James 5:13-16 KJV;
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
So you wrongly assume only the elders in the fellowship have the right to anoint sick believers with oil. No, that cannot be because it would contradict the words of Christ in the Great Commission,
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.
Christ taught His first disciples to teach, preach, and anoint the sick, including teaching all believers to do the same.
Are you a believer in Christ?
If you are, then learn how to heal the sick by following Christ wholeheartedly.
As you attend to the leading of the Holy Ghost, you will know when to use anointing oil, and when there’s no need for it. You will understand what its purpose is: The Purpose of Anointing Oil.
You will be hungry to learn how to pray the prayer of faith.
You will begin to Heal the sick in Jesus’ Name.
Healing is an intrinsic part of salvation, not an optional extra for a few.
Share the Gospel of Christ: Not some half-baked, man-made-gospel; but the message of The LORD Jesus Christ in The Holy Bible.
Both disciples and elders may anoint the sick and pray the prayer of faith, and the sick will be healed. (Mtt. 28:20, Jas. 5:14-16.)
It works today, just as it did in Bible days.
