The Greatest Sin

    The Worst Thing You’ve Done

Q: I was wondering what’s the worst sin?

A: Wonderful question, and one we each need to address before we die and face Judgment.

The answer is simple, but unknown to millions of precious people until it is too late. Here’s why…

    Religious Thinking

Religions indoctrinate sinners with an image of a God who’s angry about man’s sin, waiting to judge mankind for our wickedness.

Religion thrives on holding man sin-conscious, and reminding him of his inability to approach God.

The truth of the matter is sinful man intuatively knows he’s condemned, deep down in his heart he’s already aware that he’s doomed, long before taking his final gasp of air.

    Though you may not have admitted it to yourself before you were born of God, it was there in your spirit, like all sinners, as Christ explained to Nicodemus in Jn. 3:20-21 KJV;

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    Instinctive Truth

The wicked don’t need any religion to teach them of their sinfulness: It has been obvious to them since childhood, and they discover that no amount of respectable religion, self-justification, or philanthropic works ever removes their guilt.

They know because the Holy Ghost has been here since Christ sent Him on the Day of Pentecost, two thousand years ago; and one of His three primary purposes is to convict of sin.

Each of us knows instinctively when we are not right with our Creator.

We are born like that: It’s the way it is.

    God’s View of Sin

It comes as a surprise when people discover that God is not at all “religious”, particularly in regard to sin.

Instead of burdening sinners, laboriously emphasising their transgressions, sins of omission, and sins of commission, the Holy Ghost takes a completely different stance towards man’s sin.

God came Himself and paid for man’s sin once and for all.

All your sins have already been paid for, by God in The Flesh.

    Your Debt is Paid

Religion makes you pay continually: But God’s Word declares He’s paid it all, nothing more ever need be paid for man’s sin.

It’s done, finished, a once in eternity payment for the guilt of God’s creation.

The wrath of God on man’s rebellion, the total punishment we deserve, our guilt, shame and consequences, has been borne by God’s Only Begotten Son: The LORD Jesus Christ.

His Sacrifice, His Blood, has redeemed mankind.

    God Comes with No Condemnation

The mission of the Holy Spirit, in this dispensation, is not, as many suppose, simply to convict of sin, to make man aware of his endless list of sins.

Of a surety, they are real and hold man in bondage, they are on their backs like sacks of lead, but God comes to us in mercy, gently pointing us to the LORD Jesus Christ’s Sacrifice on our behalf.

That is why when He approaches; murderers, tyrants, thieves, homosexuals, paedophiles, adulterers, drunkards, junkies, and liars, He does so without the least sense of condemnation for such sins. (Understand the great difference between conviction of sin and condemnation.)

He has a far greater sin in mind, one which God yearns to forgive, the instant anyone repents of it.

Unbelief in the LORD Jesus Christ

That is the only sin God holds against fallen man in this dispensation of grace.
