Q: How do you reach the conclusion that the Earth is six thousand years old despite the discoveries of science?
A: That’s easy, we believe what Father has written for us in the Holy Bible, and reject the dogma that pseudo-scientists have invented from their godless imaginations.

Not a New Discovery
The Earth was created four thousand years before Christ was born (over two thousand years ago).
4000 years has been the figure calculated from the Holy Bible for centuries by many scholars, theologians, and classical scientists, such as; Jose ben Halafta (reckoned 3761 BC), Bede (3952 BC), Archbishop James Ussher (4004 BC), John Lightfoot (4004 BC), Joseph Justus Scaliger (3949 BC), Dyonisius Petavius (3983 BC), Johannes Kepler (3992 BC) and Sir Isaac Newton (c. 4000 BC).

Creation to Christ = 4000 Years
Indeed, 4000 years, or thereabouts, was the accepted figure in Christendom throughout the Middle Ages.
Therefore it would be more reasonable to ask; why do modern scientists claim the Earth is billions of years old despite the abundant scientific evidence in fossils, geology, and cosmos for a 6,000 year old Creation?
Choose Your Dogma
The answer is their ungodly worldview seeks to explain away the obvious by dogmatic rejection of Almighty God, His power, and His authority as Creator.
Faced with this glorious Creation, they refuse to repent and believe in Him, and even exclude the possibility that He exists, then seek to validate their belief system by the absurdity that everything-made-itself-from-nothing… starting from a Big Bang.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called. Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.

Modern science scorns the mention of The LORD as Creator and Judge, and has developed its own idolatrous naturalistic faith.
You can perceive the illogicality of their vain babbling; that this complex and beautifully ordered creation, created and sustains itself… by accident… starting from nothing.
That’s where the folly of the “Big Bang” myth originates: Like a Monty Python Flying Circus puff of smoke and clash of cymbals: A Cosmic Theatre of the Absurd.
In contrast, Holy Bible believers put their faith in the Author and Creator Himself: The LORD Jesus Christ, and His eye-witness written account provided for us in the Holy Bible KJV.

Which faith do you have confidence in: The fairy tales of modern science, or the faith of The Living Word of God: The LORD Jesus Christ?
Who Will You Trust?
Ultimately, the answer to your question boils down to a choice you must make before you die.
The dogma of modern science fashioned by fallible men, or the verifiable truth offered to us in the Holy Bible, by Our Infallible Creator: The LORD Jesus Christ, The Living Word of God manifest in The Flesh.
Prove The Pudding
You can validate the truth of God’s words by taking His challenge, Jn. 7:14-18 KJV;
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
If Any Man Will Do His Will
Put God’s words into practice today.
His will is that you repent and believe on Jesus as LORD, it is then that you discover Christ is real, and your spiritual blindness vanishes.
It dawns in your heart that He’s alive, and His words are indeed Absolute Eternal Truth, Jn 14:6 KJV;
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Holy Bible comes alive as you seek Him, and He teaches you personally, His Holy Spirit revealing the meaning of the written word.
So your question about the age of the Earth is answered by computing the lifespans, and specific time periods, that the word of God provides.
Take a pencil, paper, and open your KJV Holy Bible at Genesis, write down the lifespans given of the Patriarchs, and their lineage that led to Christ. * (see endnote)
You will arrive at a figure around 4004 years BC., certainly not the “millions and billions” theorized by cosmologists.

Some quibble about minutiae, points which have been addressed by Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, James Ussher’s scholarly work on historic chronology, which stands resolute today despite the objections of infidel scientists.
“Dogma!” they cry, “where’s the evidence?”
But it isn’t dogma to trust in the infallible written words of the Living God, who has abundantly proven His words are trustworthy, by being raised from death and Hell, since paying once-and-for-all for the sins of mankind.
Here’s a tabulated selection of Holy Bible data points gleaned by Ussher;
Adding the current anno domini years, the Earth’s age is; 4000 BC plus AD 2023 = 6023 years

Proverbs 3:5-8 KJV;
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Born Once: Die Twice
You were born once of a woman, physically.
Separated from God, by the sinful nature we inherited from our first parents.
That’s why Christ said to a very religious Jew, Holy Bible John 3:3 KJV;
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
We are all born in sin, growing up with our spirits dead to God, condemned to die, and face eternal Hell because no sin is permitted in Heaven.
Hell and The Lake of Fire are The Second Death, Revelation 20:12-15 KJV;
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
God loves you so much He gave His Only Begotten Son, that when you trust in Him, and what He’s done for you, all your sins will be gone, wiped from the records of Heaven, and Christ’s life will come into your heart making you a righteous new creature in Him.
Then you’ll know that you have been born twice, born of the flesh, and born of God’s Spirit… and will only die once.
Receive Christ as your LORD and exchange your burden of guilt and sin for divine righteousness and peace.

* Endnote:
The Holy Bible gives detailed chronological data from Genesis to King Solomon, for a four hundred year period after Solomon, where questions arose, Ussher resolved them all by accurately correlating bible events with extra-biblical historical dates, particularly Persian and Chaldean records.
Ussher also satisfactorily resolved the Matthew chapter 2 old-chestnut of King Herod “supposedly dying in 4BC”. Problems with both the Gregorian and Julian calendars have required numerous changes down the centuries.
