Q: What are we to make of the Tree of Life in the Bible, it sounds more symbolic than real, especially when mentioned at the end of the Bible, and does it have any similarity to the Tree of Life we are taught in Biology class at school?

A: The Tree of Life first mentioned in Genesis 2:9 KJV., is both real and symbolic.

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

There’s an actual tree in Heaven bearing the name the Tree of Life, that symbolically represents divine Life in creation, the perfect eternal life of The LORD Almighty: The same life He showed us bodily in The LORD Jesus Christ, and today offers to anybody who will believe on Him in spirit and in truth.

Have you believed on The LORD Jesus Christ, and received His Life into your spirit?

That’s when the symbol becomes manifest reality in you: God, by His Holy Spirit, comes to live in your heart forevermore.

You are totally different inside, you know it, and it’s eternal

Every sinner on Earth can become a brand new righteous creature when they are willing to repent, believe on The LORD Jesus Christ, and walk with Him.

God’s life is freely available to anyone who trusts the Only Saviour of mankind, and follows Him.

You Can Prove It Now

This is a Gospel fact you can verify today, and the LORD will prove the truth of His Promise: Hear Him, Holy Bible, Jn. 7:14-17 KJV;

Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Let go of your religion, philosophy, your churchiness, and doubts, repent of unbelief, take God’s Word to heart, and you’ll receive power to put His words into practice fulfilling His perfect will on Earth.

What is God’s Perfect Will?

That we believe in Him, His written words, His spoken words, and above all trust in His Living Word: The LORD Jesus Christ.

Sin’s shackles then fall from your wrists, neck, and ankles.

Father’s peace and love floods your heart, you know of a certainty that you’ve entered God’s Kingdom, and have begun living in Christ Jesus.

There’s nothing more precious than the reality of His Presence, and abiding in fellowship with Him.

What Are You Here For?

You were created for divine love, happiness, and perfect peace with God the Father.

The eternal life of God comes into your spirit, you become a branch of the vine, Jn. 15:1-12 KJV;

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Priceless promises from the mouth of God to us today: Beautiful righteous fruit from the Vine adorning The Tree of Life: Eat His words and live.

I am the vine, ye are the branches

Vines need to be supported in order to flourish and bear fruit.

Grape vines require a trellis of wires, natural vines rely on trees, Christ The Vine relies on Father and The Holy Ghost, apart from Whom He can do nothing.

The words of God the Father are His meat, they become His food as He puts them into action.

It can be the same for you, as millions of believers have discovered.

His written and spoken words are Spirit and they are Life. Jn. 6:63 KJV;

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Quicken means to give life, to bring forth, give birth, resurrect: Such is the power in God’s words.

Consume them, eat the Living Word of God, His Passover Lamb, and Live.

Father gave John a vision of the Tree in Heaven drawing its life from the water of the Word of God flowing from His Throne, and producing fruit continually, empowering and healing those who partake of The Living Word of God. Revelation 22:1-4 KJV;

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

John Gill comments wonderfully on Revelation 22, I recommend you read his notes.

Gill writes that the Tree of Life represents Christ, whereas my understanding is it’s an expression of divine Life.

Christ called Himself The True Vine, and said believers are branches of the Vine.

Vines are not trees, vines climb around tree trunks, they require support and nourishment.

That answers the first part of your question; now to the second…

The “Tree of Life” depicted in school textbooks is an invention promoted by infidels; Ernst Haekel, Alfred Wallace, Charles Darwin, Thomas Huxley, et. al.

It’s the antithesis of the biblical Tree of Life: It is a “Tree of Lies” from Satan, the father of lies. Jn. 8:44 KJV;

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Linnaean Taxonomy is a man-made classification of plants and animals loosely based on physical similarities.

That foundation led Darwin, and others, to make the false assumption that similar features imply lineal relatedness, and prompted the invention of the entirely fictional “Tree of Life”, where creatures are “linked by direct descent over time”.

The tree’s trunk and branches are supposed to show the “evolution of features” from “simpler” creatures to “more complex” ones via “transitional” forms, to man as the pinnacle of evolution!

Fatal Assumptions

But similarity is absolutely not due to ancestry, but rather to our Creator using a similar plan at the time of creation.

Charles Lyell’s uniformitarianism, and gelogical stratification myths, are based on the erroneous assumption that rock layers were laid down gradually “over aeons of time”, millions of years, in a stable “uniform environment”, whereas Father’s biblical eye-witness account, is that they are the direct consequence of the sudden catastrophic worldwide Genesis Flood, with its volcanic and sedimentary aftermath.

Basic Geological Mythology

Lyell befriended young Charles Darwin, and coached him to believe the lie that the Earth’s geology was ancient, thereby providing impetus to Darwin’s ungodly imagination.

An old Earth is essential for evolutionary theory, in order to provide the time required for a particular feature to develop, and one species to “transform into another”.

Dealing With Infidels

Christians counter the central concept of evolutionary biology by enumerating scientific reasons why the fairy-tale is; impossible, unscientific, and utterly false.

That approach has value, but is not the best way to deal with people who eagerly embrace Neo-Darwinian deception.

The modern scientist’s mind is closed to the spiritual realm in which believers live, they have no contact with God, so they assume the Christian is a deluded fantasist.

I know, because that’s precisely how I used to view Christians as a Zoology graduate still in my sins.

It would have been a waste of effort to try to convince me of the existence of God by rebutting evolutionary theory.

For me then, evolution theory “was obviously correct”, and religion was plainly ignorant self-deception.

Truth Sets You Free

What did stop me in my tracks was the LORD mercifully opening my eyes to His Glory in The Gospel of Christ.

How wonderfully the anointed Gospel message dissolves the Devil’s lies; it is truth, with the anointing of the LORD, that breaks every yoke of unbelief.

Instant Illumination

The very hour I repented and believed on Christ, I knew in my spirit that evolution was a complete hoax, and God’s Word has always been Absolute Truth.

It was as if a light was switched on in a black cave.

It is the Gospel that is the power of God. Rom. 1:16 KJV;

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
