    The Unforgivable & Deadliest Sin

    Q: What’s the worst sin of all?

    A: Thank you for your question.

    Ask sober sinners, and they generally list such sins as; murder, paedophilia, homosexuality, incest, rape, adultery, fornication, and stealing.

    Saints respond differently because Christians tend to focus on Christ’s teaching, that blaspheming the Holy Ghost is unforgivable, Mtt. 12:31-32 KJV;

    Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

    And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

    The Lord, speaking by the Holy Ghost, makes clear what this unforgivable sin is in Mk. 3:28-30 KJV;

    Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

    The Jewish religious crowd, having witnessed His miracles and Him driving out demons with a word, concluded Jesus did so by demonic power, Mk. 3:22 KJV;

    And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

    In response to their blasphemy, God in the Flesh told sinners under the Old Covenant, that seeing His miracles, and ascribing them to the Devil, is unforgivable.

    Out with the Old

    Praise God for the better Covenant, based on better promises, under which every sin can be cleansed by the Blood of Christ. Heb. 8:6, 9:13-15 KJV;

    But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

    For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

    And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

    In with the New

    In this dispensation of the Gospel of Grace, none of the awful sins mentioned above are unforgivable, as most of you reading this will know from personal experience.

    Like me, you were once on such a blacklist weren’t you?

    But now you’ve been redeemed, made a new creature in Christ, and truly walk with Him as your LORD.

    Murderers, adulterers, and prostitutes make tremendous Christians, after they’ve tasted the goodness of God, and received Jesus as their LORD.

    How would Jesus respond to the question, What is the worst, the deadliest, sin of all?

    We don’t have to guess, the Holy Bible makes it clear to us.

    Why God’s Spirit Was Sent

    The evening before wrapping up The Mosaic Law, Christ spoke to His disciples at the Last Supper summarising the main work of the Holy Ghost under our current dispensation, Jn. 16:7-11 KJV;

    Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

    And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

    Christ completed His earthly ministry, went to Father in Heaven, and on the day of Pentecost fifty days later, sent the Holy Ghost: God’s Spirit.

    His Divine Life, has been freely available ever since to whosoever will believe on Christ.

    Halleluia!

    Jesus summarised why His Spirit is here;

    …he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

    Of Judgment:

    That Satan, and every sinful work, has now been judged, sentenced, and condemned by God.

    Christ bore the total guilt, shame, sickness, and punishment due for mankind.

    That’s why sinners fear death, because after death comes their Divine Judgment. (Heb. 9:27)

    Of Righteousness:

    The LORD Jesus Christ is divine righteousness made Flesh, Almighty God manifested on Earth to mankind.

    He was vindicated by His resurrection, and now reigns in Heaven with Father in glory.

    If Jesus had sinned once, Heaven could not have accepted Him back. Christ’s eternal righteousness is proven, and He invites you to validate that Gospel fact for yourself. (Jn. 7:16-17)

    It is a most precious experience.

    Of Sin:

    Christ Jesus declared, Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    God’s Spirit Convicts of One Sin

    Allow that simple truth to rest in your heart, take time to contemplate what it means.

    It is one of the most profound statements in the Holy Bible, answering fundamental questions sinners have about God;

    “Why is life so hard, where have I gone wrong, what have I done to deserve this? Is there anybody who cares about me?”

    Notice particularly this detail: The Holy Spirit is sent to convict the world of a single sin: Unbelief in Christ as LORD.

    Even the noblest acts of unsaved men are sinful, because everything they do is done apart from, and without faith in, their Creator (Rom. 14:23b).

    Almighty God is fully aware of every sin we commit, but He reproves this wicked, Hell-bent world of only one sin: Unbelief in The LORD Jesus Christ.

    Think about that Gospel fact, and why it is so.

    The Worst Sin

    Unbelief in Jesus is plainly the worst sin of all, the sin God holds pre-eminent, and the only sin He holds against this sin-sick world.

    Why Only One Sin?

    Because every sin has already been paid for: Christ died for the ungodly (Rom. 5:8-10 KJV).

    His Blood was shed for the remission of our sins.

    Father sacrificed His Only Begotten Son to redeem humanity from sin, Satan, sickness, and Hell.

    Nothing more needs to be paid, nothing more needs to be done to redeem this fallen world: God in the Flesh has finished it, once and for all.

    The only requirement of God’s New Covenant of Grace, to activate His Covenant in your life, is that you wholeheartedly repent from unbelief and believe on The LORD Jesus Christ.

    Believe What?

    • Believe that He is who He said He is: Almighty God made Flesh. He implicitly claimed it throughout His ministry. Jn. 12:41+45; Is. 6:5; Jn. 1:1+14; Rev. 1:8, Rev. 22:13+16; Is. 48:12; Lk. 6:5; Jn. Ch. 8.
    • Believe that He has redeemed you from all the power of sin, and every evil thing.
    • Believe that He rose from the dead bodily, proving your debt is paid, and that He has justified you before Father.
    • Believe in Him as your LORD, your loving Master, obey Him and walk in His Love.

    When you dare to really believe in Christ, you will discover the reality of His power to guide you into Father’s will.

    You’ll develop godly talents, with a new purpose, and be assured of victory over evil through confident trust in what Christ has accomplished for you.

    Settle it Now

    You can see why unbelief in The Living Christ is the deadliest sin of all: Unbelief robs you of the life and blessings of God, and opens you to every work of the evil one.

    You hold the key to changing that right now: What will you do?

    Smith Wigglesworth discovered the difference between head-faith and Bible faith. One produces cosy, but dead, religion, the other dynamic miracle results. Find out how to really believe, and you will begin to thrill God’s Heart like Smith did: The Power of Faith
