Ears to Hear

And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

    Mark 4:1-9 KJV

When Creation began the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

    Gen. 1:1-2 KJV

Four thousand years later the same Spirit addressed a multitude of Jews on a Galilean beach.

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son

He came in the LORD Jesus Christ to show us what God is like in a Man, to redeem creation once and for all, and to teach us what real life is for.

The press of the crowd was so great God-made-Flesh pushed out to sea in a fisherman’s boat, and sat in His ‘pulpit’ to teach those simple villagers about divine life and God’s kingdom.

His teaching went right over their heads, as it does ours, until the same Holy Ghost gives us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us.

    Theologians in Hell

You can study the Gospels everyday of your life without ever comprehending what the LORD is talking about, theologians have mastered this dubious skill, and you would do well to avoid their curse.

And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

    Malachi 2:1-2 KJV

No, we cannot comprehend God through our intellect, nor rationalise the eternal truths of His written word using our tiny minds: Once you understand how God teaches, you’ll know that instantly, and you will thank God that He has given you ears to hear.

    Open Deaf Ears

Ludwig van Beethoven was a musical genius who, tragically, spent most of his adult life physically stone-deaf. A gifted pianist, he used a piece of wood pressed between his head and piano to feel the vibrations as he composed his keyboard sonatas.

When you hear them played; on a period instrument, with the tempi, fingerings, and pedalling his scores indicate, only then will you begin to grasp the immensity of his talent.

All his greatest works, including his symphonies, were composed when he was deaf as a doorknob, yet they are exquisite, and deeply moving: How can this be?

The answer is, he composed them in his heart, arranged them in his head, and from there they passed through his fingers to the keyboard and scores.

He could hear them in his heart, in his spirit, like all great musical composers.

    Are You Hearing?

The point in relating this, is to locate where your real ears are.

You may have perfect auditory ability, with first-class physical hearing, but if you do not have the ears of your spirit open, you will be as deaf as a post to God, and wide open to the wiles of the Devil.

Oh Halleluia when the LORD opens our spiritual ears. What a difference hearing makes then!

His written word springs to life, His Spirit’s promptings become vivid and vital to you.

You have become a son of God, led by His Spirit, and you will not look back to the old way of existence.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    Rom. 8:14 KJV

    Who’s Your Leader?

Are you led by the Spirit of God, or by your own desires?

When you have ears to hear, you will delight to deny yourself, and follow Him.

Why? Because that is; where your joy lies, that is where the blessing is given, that is where you remain safe from all evil: Under God’s anointing in Christ Jesus.

Ears to hear are a gift from God, a gracious blessing offered to everyone who asks.

Is that you, have you asked Father for Him to open your ears to His Living Word?

    He certainly wants to open all deaf ears, He already said so;

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear

So you know He’ll answer you immediately, and you will discover what you have craved all your life, without realising it.

The only condition is; you must be willing to turn with all your heart from your own way, turn from mere human plans and ambitions, and really believe on the Living God: The LORD Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible.

He’s right there with you now, looking to see how you will respond.

Give Him your heart, your entire future, let Him rule your life, emotions, & attitudes, and you will become a new creature in Christ, with Ears to Hear what His Spirit is saying to you.

And to continue hearing, simply obey His Spirit in everything.

    AMEN
