    Wilt thou be made whole?

    After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

    Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

    In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

    And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

    The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

    Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

    And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

    The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

    He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

    Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

    And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

    Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

    The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

    Jn. 5:1-16 KJV

    Made Whole In Christ

    What a glorious example of God’s Grace and power, which comes freely to those who turn wholeheartedly to the Living Word of God.

    This is more than a healing miracle; it is an encapsulation of the redemption available to all believers: Forgiveness of sins and wholeness of body, soul, and spirit.

    Like each of us born with the sinful nature, this man was helpless and unable to walk with our Creator, yet God came to him, and made him whole with a word.

    Henceforth, he could not only run and leap for joy, but was also set free to walk in loving spiritual fellowship with Almighty God for evermore.

    This is formidable: The answer to our greatest need.

    You too can walk with the Living God

    Has The LORD come to you yet?

    Have you been born again?

    He wants to make you a brand new creature in Christ? 2 Cor. 5:17 KJV;

    Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

    Wilt thou be made whole?

    You can experience The LORD Jesus Christ healing you today with a word.

    Respond as this man did, and you’ll have that, and much more right now.

    What thrills our hearts about this miracle is The Holy Ghost put it in the Bible to cover several points not made elsewhere.

    For example; the impotent man didn’t know who healed him, (if he had he would have recognized Jesus Christ), he didn’t even hear the Gospel, but nonetheless obeyed the words from God’s lips, and was instantly healed.

    This happened under the Old Covenant

    You know… the Mosaic Law, that only One Man has ever kept, and was designed to point us to Him, Gal. 3:24 KJV;

    Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

    The better New Covenant that we enjoy, had not even started when this sinner-man was completely healed by trusting Jesus’ words.

    Meditate on that Gospel Fact

    It was a sign from God pointing sinners to His Only Begotten Son: Jesus of Nazareth.

    It’s as if God was saying; “Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, whom you Jews are waiting for, and to prove it, I’ll use Him to; open blind eyes and deaf ears, loosen dumb tongues, and make the lame leap for joy, just as I said I would through my Prophets of old.”

    It’s easy for us to perceive this from our perspective, but those religious Jews needed shaking up, so God chose a Sabbath to rattle their cage.

    Sabbath Busting Miracle

    “Son, see that crippled sinner by the pool Bethesda, go and ask him if he wants to get well, he’ll moan in reply, nevertheless command him to get up and walk home. Oh, and this is important, tell him to carry his bedding.”

    The humble Carpenter followed the leading of God’s Spirit in His heart, a wonderful miracle resulted, the Jewish hypocrites rose in jealousy and criticised the miracle man for carrying his bedding on a Sabbath.

    “God would not tell him to break the Sabbath by “doing work” on a holy rest day.”

    Some poor souls still think that way!

    God shot down such hypocrisy, healed an impotent sinner-man, in the heart of Jerusalem, fulfilled more prophecies, and points us to our perfect eternal redemption through the Blood, and Sacrifice of The LORD Jesus Christ.

    How can anybody not love a God who’s still doing stuff like that?

    Halleluia!

    Learn how you can obtain and remain in perfect health by understanding Christ’s words to this healed sinner-man, in John 5:14 KJV;

    Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
