Let’s Read Father’s Will
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John 17:21-23 KJV
Unity and Separation are concurrent themes through the Holy Bible
Indicators for the righteous, when understood in the Holy Ghost, but stones of stumbling for the carnal. (See Isaiah Ch 8.)
One: Unity
Our Creator has chosen to reveal Himself to sinful mankind through; one family, one tribe, and one Man: The Seed of Abraham, the tribe of Judah, and The LORD Jesus Christ.
The recorded history of their span on Earth illustrates the divine requirement for unity and separation: They are both imperative, and come only One Way.
Get Thee Out
Abram was called to separate from his kin and birthplace to sojourn in a far country he neither knew, nor had yet set foot. He was to discover it by walking, tent dwelling, and depending on his Maker for everything.
It is the most wonderful place to be, and you will be wise to do likewise.
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Gen. 12:1-4 KJV
Separated & United
Abram obeyed wholeheartedly, did as he was told; separated from his kindred, followed the spoken word of Almighty God, and expected Him to fulfil what He had promised.
Abram separated himself, and united with God.
Have you done likewise?
Growth & Development
His life consisted of testing, trials, notable victories, and shocking failures: Like ours.
If you think you are going to float through life on clouds of glory, and then be snapped upstairs, you are mistaken: No, Father has determined to make you and me just like Our Prototype: Jesus of Nazareth.
He desires to see the character of His Son expressed in our flesh: So He subjects us to divine discipline, just as He did with Abram.
He passed each test, honoured God’s rhema’d word, and so was rewarded with divine commendation, a new name, Abraham, Father of many nations, and God’s Covenant was renewed with him. (See Gen. 12:1-7)
Separation & Unity
Abraham lived separated from the world, and united with Almighty God in a Covenant of Faith.
Father wants you to do the same.
Here’s the final petition of Christ for every believer in Him, John 17:15-23 KJV;
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Peculiar People
Notice; believers are not of the world, just as Christ is not of the world: In it, but not of it. Halleluia!
We are to maintain that separation, we are to be distinct from the world, different from those who walk in the flesh.
Also note, believers are united in Christ with God the Father, by the grace of God and presence of Christ in us: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one: Unity with God through Christ.
Not Unity With The Harlot
Unity with God through Christ: This was what He came for: The heart of Redemption.
It has nothing to do with unity between individual Christians, or fellowships “getting along together”: Nothing. But sadly, that is how it is usually perceived.
Rome has capitalized on that ignorance, as part of its counter-reformation, attempting to seduce Christians to unite under the Ecumenical Umbrella of the Vatican.
Soon it will be commonplace for backslidden fellowships, and apostate denominations to worship with Roman Catholics as if they were genuine Christians: The great falling away prophesied twenty centuries ago in the Holy Ghost’s second letter to the fellowship at Thessalonica. (See 2 Thess. 2:1-12 KJV)
The Great Falling Away
Real Christians can never join with Catholics in any worship or venture because Catholics are NOT Christian, they are idolaters serving a counterfeit ‘christ’ following man-made, devil-inspired, rituals and rites which the LORD detests.
Christian unity comes only one way; by the grace of God through The LORD Jesus Christ, and heart faith in His finished sacrifice on the believer’s behalf.
The Unity Christ Prayed For…
Is the unity that comes through His Sacrifice: Believers are united with Father God through His Only Begotten Son: Not through religion, rites, and idolatry.
It is Christ alone who has reconciled us back to Our Maker, and it is only in Him that we are united with Father as though we had never sinned: Not through any human effort or observance.
If you are ever going to secure this precious place of unity with Father you are going to have to remain separate from the spirit of the world, the deceiving, seducing, spirits clamouring for denominations to join the heathen practices of Rome in pagan idolatry, assenting to the headship of Popery.
No! Never! Not now, Never!
Because we attend to the cry of the Spirit of God echoing down the centuries and resounding in our hearts, 2 Cor. 6:14-18 KJV;
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
AMEN!
