    Is The Greatest Sin

    We read in The Greatest Sin that in this current dispensation rejecting the Lordship of Jesus Christ is greater than all other sins combined.

    He inferred as much when He described the mission of the Holy Ghost, Jn. 16:8-9 KJV;

    And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    To perceive this Gospel fact consider the matter of repentance.

    Born in Trouble

    Each of us is born sinful to the core, children of the devil, living according to his nature, walking in the flesh.

    We are born that way: It’s man’s default setting from birth, as the Holy Ghost reminds believers in Eph. 2:2-3 KJV;

    Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

    Though created by God originally, and able to live and walk in perfect righteousness, our first parents, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God’s word, yielded to temptation, and thereby forfeited their dominion, passing their inheritance to Satan. (Gen. Ch. 3)

    Consequently, we are born in sin, powerless to do right, separated from God, doomed to die in sin, and face God’s Judgment.

    God Fixed Our Sin Problem

    It’s not the individual’s fault that he or she is born that way, that is why Almighty God has provided the perfect remedy for man’s sinful situation: He has judged mankind’s sin in Christ Jesus, once and for all, more about that later.

    Why Unbelief in Jesus is the Greatest Sin

    Now, consider a sinner who becomes aware that he, or she, is falling short in some measure, and so resolves to do better.

    He determines to quit a particular sin, or sins, and succeeds for the rest of his life: He repented of that sin, turned away, never to repeat that sin.

    Turning Over a New Leaf

    It does sometimes happen; a smoker quits smoking, a murderer stops killing people, a thief robs a bank once, an adulterer becomes loyal to their spouse because of remorse after a “fling”.

    Now, think about when that person dies; his spirit leaves the body and is taken to face divine Judgment, Heb. 9:27 KJV;

    …it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

    Are such individuals right before God?

    Does He judge them as righteous according to His perfect standard?

    Good Enough for God?

    The answer is, no, obviously not.

    Whilst they have indeed repented of one or two specific sins, their nature is still sinful, and their whole life has been sinful compared to God’s standard of perfect righteousness, just as His written word declares, Rom. 3:10-12,23 KJV;

    As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one… For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    That is God’s verdict on each person born of human flesh.

    He’s talking about what they are by nature: Sinful to the core from birth, because they inherited Adam’s fallen nature.

    Thank God for His Son’s Blood

    When the penny drops, and a sinner perceives this obvious fact as truth, then they begin to grasp why failing to accept The LORD Jesus Christ as saviour is indeed the worst sin of all.

    God came, as a flesh and blood man like us, walked in perfect love for Father God, and mankind, then gave Himself to redeem us: He took the full penalty we each deserve.

    His resurrection proves His righteousness, and our justification: That is why we simply must believe in Him, or perish and spend eternity paying for our sins, because we rejected God’s payment for them.

    Now is the time to quit the greatest sin of all.

    What about the unforgivable sin?

    Fifty days after He ascended to Heaven, Christ sent His Holy Spirit to fill, empower, and guide believers through all the details of daily life, and be effective witnesses of Him to this lost generation. You need to learn How You Can Be Led By The Spirit of God.

    We have His written word, the Holy Bible as a reference foundation, but the primary way God leads His children is directly by His Spirit. This book will help you develop your ability to follow His Spirit in all things. It’s a wonderful scriptural and practical teaching.
