Have The Faith of God
Divine Faith isn’t natural: It’s supernatural!
Father God expects each of His children to believe as The LORD Jesus Christ believed when He walked on Earth… and see the same results.
That’s precisely the point He made by cursing the Fig tree (Mark 11:12-14 and 20-26 KJV)
Christ Cursed The Fig Tree
And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
In The Den of Thieves
Then He entered the Temple, which the Jews had made into a den of thieves, and in righteous anger drove out the merchants and moneychangers with a whip. The next day Mark 11:20-26 KJV continues the episode;
And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
A note in the margin of Mark 11:22 KJV suggests for Have faith in God, the alternative reading; Or, have the faith of God.
Implying that believers ought to live by the God-kind of faith, instead of natural human-faith.
Believe and Say
Prayers of faith are based on the word of God, so are unrestricted by any situation or circumstance.
Accordingly, the outcome will be what the follower of Christ truly believes and declares it to be.
Mouldy Religion
Christians are often religiously blinkered and miss what God’s written word actually means.
They assume the prayer of faith is asking God to do something for them. So they pray… and then wait for God to move on their behalf.
But that’s NOT the prayer of faith at all!
What is the Prayer of Faith?
The expression occurs in, James 5:14-15 KJV concerning healing sick believers;
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Christian’s prayers ought to be prayers of faith: Not prayers of hope, repetitive lists, or rote prayers, but prayer in accord with God’s will, word, and Spirit.
By praying this way believers know we have what we asked, because of the eternal redemption Christ has purchased for us with His Life and Precious Blood.
When our prayers align with both God’s word and Holy Spirit, we know that we have what we asked in Christ’s Name.
The Faith That Works
The Holy Ghost shows us what bible faith is in Rom. 4:17 and Heb. 11:1 KJV;
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
You’ll see this more clearly by applying God’s descriptions of faith to James 4:15.
In essence, the God-kind of faith calls those things which be not, as though they were.
So James 4:15 becomes, “the prayer which calls those things which be not, as though they were, shall save the sick.”
And applying what we read in Heb. 11:1 the same phrase becomes, “the prayer of the evidence not seen shall save the sick.”
Believe and Declare it Done
You can now understand what God the Holy Ghost is saying.
Therefore as we pray in faith, we stand upon God’s written word despite all natural evidence, and call those things which be not as though they were.
When we pray in faith our faith in His written word is the evidence that The Judge of judges is looking for to prove that we trust His word, His integrity, His Sacrifice, and His Name above all else, and so our faith becomes the substance God uses to bring to pass that which we’re believing for.
Hit or Miss?
Those who pray for something and then look to see if it has arrived, have missed the point, they’re not praying in faith, but mere hope, and so are always disappointed.
They refuse to believe in their heart that they have received what they asked for until they see it.
They say things like, “It’s still the same so I’m not going to lie, I’ll only believe it when I see it.”
That’s not bible faith.
Such prayer is a waste of breath that frustrates both God and man alike.
Unbelief Looks: Faith Leaps
Notice verse 24,
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, WHEN YE PRAY, BELIEVE THAT YE RECEIVE THEM, and ye shall have them.
According to Almighty God manifested in Human Flesh, we are to believe as we pray that we have received what we are praying for.
It takes no faith to believe what you can see, touch, and feel, does it?
But it takes divine faith to believe what is not, and so cannot be seen: Have the faith of God.
When you embrace this basic bible truth it will transform your prayer life.
After The Penny Has Dropped
You’ll be able to pray knowing that you have been heard, so you know that you have what you prayed for, regardless of sensory information.
Therefore you boldly confess that you already have what you’re believing for, and Father is delighted to make it good every time.
Why?
-
- Because your praying is unselfish and scriptural.
- Your believing is heart trust in God’s written word, disregarding sense knowledge, you have faith knowledge.
- You therefore call those things which be not, as though they were.
- You’re not denying sense knowledge input, you simply choose to believe what faith knowledge says, so you declare it done, accomplished.
- Because you are walking in God’s love, and forgiving others as He has forgiven you, the manifestation will assuredly follow according to your faith and your confession.
Halleluia!
