For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Flesh and Blood Cannot Inherit
Praise God for His precious word, by which we perceive that all human endeavour stands condemned, doomed to perish under the New Covenant in God’s Blood. 1 Cor. 15:50 KJV;
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
In addition, that which is wrought by mortal flesh is of no eternal value: Only that accomplished by the word and Spirit of the LORD endures forever. Halleluia!
Human sentiment recoils at this Gospel truth, yet it remains as sure and certain as the resurrection of the quick and the dead. 1 Pe. 4:5-6KJV;
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
The First Cause
The first sunrise was initiated, and tomorrow’s is assured, by the word of command from The Almighty; Let there be… Gen. 1:14-16 KJV;
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Since our cosmos was formed six thousand years ago, by divine creative words, and continues because of their almighty power, how much more will this scriptural prophecy of the reigning Messiah be eternally valid.
The LORD has declared;
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end…
Increase… No end.
What a word to live on!
Hungry Lions
It was true when the Prophet Isaiah first uttered those words, it was in force whilst Christians, confident in Christ, huddled in irons under the Roman Colosseum (Amphitheatrum Flavium) awaiting dismemberment by ravenous lions, and it is working for us today.
Less of You: More of Him
Your government is diminishing as you submit to your Lord’s will.
He has more of you today than yesterday doesn’t He?
If not, then quit wasting your time on Earth, wrestling like Jacob with the One you claim as Lord. Gen. 32:24 KJV;
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
Don’t make the same mistake as Jacob. That’s how he began to limp. (Gen. 32:25 KJV)
Let the LORD loose in your heart and life today, or be prepared to be humbled.
Make your constant declaration, that you become less, and He becomes more. Jn. 3:30 KJV;
He must increase, but I must decrease.
Say that and mean it.
It’s your choice.
We are disciples: Not hypocrites, phonies, or limping Jacobs!
It is our delight to yield and cooperate with our Creator, we don’t quibble like spoilt brats bawling in the supermarket because they can’t have their own way.
He has decreed;
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end…
That means increase on Earth, in the Cosmos, and beyond.
That’s why the Universe is ever expanding: Scientists cannot comprehend how or why that is happening, but we know don’t we?
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end… in you and in me.
What an exciting promise!
It is as certain as the next sunrise; and empowered by the same Source: He said it, so it must be.
What We Live For
I rejoice that He is governing me right now: His Word rules in my heart.
That is where these words are coming from: Him.
But we rejoice still more, at the prospect of Him increasing His government in us, so that eventually we manifest Him alone, not this current mixture of us and Him.
His life is the only life in you, if you have been born again. But you always have the choice to let His life rule, or your will seizes the reins.
You’ll have learned that is not the way of victory.
Your first week of discipleship taught you that flesh fails every time, and frustrates the plan of God for your existence.
By now you ought to be actively keeping your flesh under the control of your spirit, so that Father’s will is what you fulfil each day.
If that is not so, go back to square one, and become a true disciple of The LORD Jesus Christ.
