Rom. 8:16 KJV;
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The Inside Information
The word of God declares that believers in Christ know who they are, and what they have.
God’s Spirit bears witness to our spirit that Almighty God has given us spiritual New Birth into His Family.
We have inside information confirming our God-given divine status that nothing, in Heaven, or on Earth, can gainsay.
Our hearts do somersaults reading Romans 8, and the Spirit of God purrs inside,
Child, that’s you, that’s yours, your mine, we are one, all I have, you have, I’ve given it to you forever. Only believe!
Reject religion: Accept your inheritance in Christ.
If Children, Then Heirs
Religious indoctrination keeps people crawling and grovelling before God, begging for what He’s stated He’s already given to believers in Christ.
Religious people become comfortable seeing themselves as sinful worms in the dust, grinding through their traditions and rituals, endlessly trying to make themselves acceptable to God. Instead of humbly believing that they are what God says they are.
You have friends like that. Sincere, dedicated, church-goers, content with religion, but barren, devoid of the reality and fruit of Christ in their lives.
Will He Find Faith?
Confront them with what God has written for us in the Holy Bible, and they respond by shielding themselves from Holy Ghost anointed Truth with impenetrable unbelief, wrapping themselves in a cloak of man-made doctrine.
It was a shock to discover, when I arrived on the mission-field, that many missionaries are like this.
For example, one honourable friend, though genuinely born again, was ignorant of the true Baptism in the Holy Ghost.
It was plain, even to a new believer like myself, that Satan had hobbled this man’s ministry through his powerlessness.
When I gently drew his attention to the scriptures relating to his need, he couldn’t contradict them, and seemed to accept their obvious meaning.
His wife, who was also present, had been praying to receive power, and wanted the Baptism, but her husband told me the story.
He’d promised his sponsoring fellowship that he’d, “never get involved with that tongues business”. He apologised, but said he couldn’t go back on his word to his church.
Now, isn’t that tragic? Snared by his own lips. (Prov. 6:1-2) The poor man imprisoned himself in bondage to false-doctrine, and dead works, by his rejection of God’s promised inheritance of power.
Honouring his own word, but dishonouring God’s word.
Just contemplate how Father is grieved by that response.
You won’t reject any of your inheritance will you?
It is far more than the Power Baptism.
If Children, Then Heirs
When anybody is born again, they become God’s child, forgiven, cleansed, and accepted in the beloved.
Their old sinful nature is gone, crucified with Christ, and the righteous, holy, nature of God is poured into them by the Holy Ghost.
They are instantly made new creatures in Christ, by simple heart faith in the Good News that; God came, in Christ; and suffered the full penalty of our sins, carried our sicknesses and infirmities, was punished for our guilt, and rose from the dead, according to the Scriptures. 2 Co. 5:17 KJV;
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You cannot make yourself a new creature, it is the gift of God, by faith in Christ. His promised Good News prophesied in the Old Testament. (Eze. 11:19, 36:26 Jer. 31:31-34)
Nobody could have the New Birth until Christ had risen from the dead, and offered His Blood on the altar of Heaven.
But now, everyone who believes and accepts Him as LORD, God in the Flesh, that He died for them, and confesses His resurrection, is miraculously transformed from the inside out by God’s Spirit.
God imputes to them; His righteousness, His holiness, and redeems them from Satan’s power. (1 Co. 1:30, Col. 1:13)
If Children, Then Heirs
This is your inheritance now!
Believe and walk in it.
You cannot; work for it, pray for it, fast, or beg for it; you simply accept it by faith as Bible fact, gifted by the grace and mercy of God. He did all that is necessary to make you right with Him, and lift you up to His level.
Stop trying to save yourself.
Re-read “The Will”, embrace and walk in your full inheritance in Christ.
That will truly please God. He gave His Only Son to make you His heir, and Christ’s co-heir.
