    International Church of Christ

    Q: We recently left the ICC Church of Christ, believing it is a cult; should we no longer associate with these people now?

    A: You did the right thing, the Boston ICC (of Kip McKean) is definitely a cult. I’ve had many encounters with them whilst evangelising.

    Mentoring Mayhem

    You’ll be familiar with the bondage and mind-control they exert over the gullible, calling it ‘discipling’ and ‘shepherding’, but what really irks me is perverting the Gospel as they do. Their message creates bondage instead of setting sinners free.

    Once I met a brace of them on the street, and the Lord told me to politely ask them to read out-loud Titus 3:3-11. Which I did.

    Convicted by their Own Bible

    They opened their Bibles, looked at it, immediately came under conviction, and stubbornly refused to read it out. Their own Bibles!

    Read that KJV passage in the Holy Ghost, and you’ll see why.

    Be Ye Separate

    Simply obey verses 10-11, and, as I did, leave them to their wicked work. (See also 2 Jn. 9-11.) Find a Christian fellowship, and get saved the Bible way. It’s wonderful! Do you really want to please God?

    Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

    2 Cor. 6:17-18 KJV

    ICC Ban Musical Instruments

    Q: I used to go to the “Church of Christ” but I left because I felt I was at a standstill there. I went to another church that uses musical instruments, and the ICC condemns them for it. Tell me what you think of the “Church of Christ”, and their instrument doctrine please, I would really like to hear your thoughts. Donnie

    A: It was the Spirit of God who led you to leave because the ICC is a cult, not a Christian organisation. The ICC have many serious false-teachings, in addition to their quirky foible over musical instruments.

    Become a Christian the Holy Bible Way, and ask the Lord to lead you to a genuine Spirit-filled Christian fellowship.

    Man-made Religion

    All cults have legalistic rules invented by the mind of man, without genuine scriptural basis.

    Religion consists of human ideas about God, and how to worship our Creator; religion makes adherents feel content with forms, rules, and rituals, and having performed their routines at regular intervals, they then proceed with their “own life”.

    Self-Condemned

    Such are the delusions which men erect to keep themselves far from the Truth of God: The LORD Jesus Christ who said, Jn. 3:19-20 KJV;

    And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

    To answer your point about the ICC forbidding musical instruments in worship…

    Corrupting Scripture

    The ICC cult prohibits the use of musical instruments in divine worship because of misinterpreting a bible verse which, they claim, shows that King David, the Prophet King, “went against God” by using musical instruments such as psalteries, harps, and viols in worship.

    David did indeed enrich tabernacle worship with his psalms accompanied by cymbals and stringed musical instruments, but it was certainly not against the Holy Ghost’s leading.

    There is no censure of David for using musical intruments in the Holy Bible.

    In order to create the impression that David erred, cults corrupt the meaning of scripture.

    The LORD rebuked self-satisfied Jews for their hypocrisy and worship through Amos 6:1-6 KJV;

    Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

    Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?

    Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

    Notice:…

    That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

    Cults leap on this divine rebuke to imply that the LORD condemned King David for inventing instruments of music, but that is not the case. The LORD is rebuking those who are self-indulgent and pampered, whilst void of compassion, and He criticises them for inventing instruments of music, like David. We know this cannot mean what they claim, because the Holy Ghost in 2 Chronicles chapter 29 endorses David’s use of musical instruments in divine worship in verse 25 thus;

    And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.

    Here’s that confirmation of David, Gad, and Nathan, in context, 2 Chron. 29:20-36 KJV;

    Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.
    And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.
    So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.
    And they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:
    And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.
    And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.
    And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
    And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.
    And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.
    And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.
    Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.
    Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.
    And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
    And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.
    But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.
    And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.
    And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

    God’s Spirit and Word Always Agree

    The Holy Ghost never contradicts Himself, or God’s written word, so Amos 6:5 is definitely NOT censuring David at all, but rather rebuking the Jews who copied David’s worship without having David’s compassion for his subjects.

    In other words; their worship was pretence, a sham, vain, empty, not because they used instruments, but rather because they were worshipping with a sinful attitude.

    Bible Correcting Cult

    When you point this out to the cults, they typically claim the KJV is mistranslated, because the Syriac and Arabic bibles, render verse 25 as;

    “Hezekiah appointed the Levites in the house of the Lord, with instruments of music, and the sound of harps, and with the hymns of David, and the hymns of Gad, the king’s prophet, and of Nathan, the king’s prophet: for David sang the praises of the Lord his God, as from the mouth of the prophets.”

    The Syriac and Arabic translations erroneously leave out, “…with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps“, and substitute “hymns”.

    Conclusion: God Has Kept His Word

    Remember, anybody changing the Holy Bible in English (KJV) is always wrong, and acting in spiritual ignorance or guile. The Devil inspires men to do this more and more as The LORD’s Appearing approaches.

    The KJV translators got it right, here the Syriac and Arabic translators were flat wrong.

    The ICC cult is manifestly in error by forbidding musical instruments in worship.

    This is a result of men interpreting the written word by their thoughts, and experiences, instead of attending to the Holy Ghost: Our Teacher and Comforter, whom Christ describes as the Spirit of Truth Jn. 16:7-15 KJV;

    Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

    And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

    I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

    He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

    All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
