David and Goliath
Please read the Bible encounter between David and Goliath in 1 Samuel Chapter 17.
We would never have heard of David but for Goliath.
The boy who would be King needed his gigantic enemy.
The confrontation was an essential part of God’s perfect plan for his life.
Goliath was created for David to defeat.
You need your enemies in order to fulfil God’s purpose for your life.
Is that a new thought? Perhaps you have seen your enemies as obstacles keeping you from your goals.
My Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts
Your Heavenly Father views them differently.
Did God think Goliath was a hindrance?
The mighty men of Israel certainly did, they quaked and ran away when challenged by the giant. For forty days they were humiliated morning and evening by a fearsome warrior’s taunt. The Devil’s word put them to flight. It was a national disgrace. We read of their failure and still shake our heads.
Yet few Christians have understood or used the authority given to them by Christ. Rev. Hagin’s book is an excellent introduction to Exercising Authority in Spiritual Warfare.
God sent His protégé to show them, and us, how to defeat any enemy; great or small.
The irony is that each one of Israel’s fleeing soldiers could have slain Goliath if they had done what David did. But they fled before the enemy because they were faithless and carnal.
