    She Can’t Stop Sinning

    Q: How does one get rid of addictive sin, that’s really difficult. I keep trying but fail? Shilpa

    A: Dear Shilpa, don’t lose heart, the fact that you are concerned about bondage to sin is a healthy sign. And I have very good news for you.

    How to Overcome Temptation

    There is a way to walk in victory over all sin, to have perfect holiness, total righteousness, and everlasting peace with Almighty God. Would you like that?

    You can have them today, God has made it really easy for us.

    It is what Christ died to give you.

    Power From On High

    When the day of Pentecost arrived, fifty days after Christ ascended to Heaven, He sent the baptism in the Holy Spirit to the first believers.

    It transformed them from fearful, failing wimps, into fearless, conquering powerhouses for God.

    Have you received the power from on high that Jesus spoke of in Lk. 24:49 KJV?

    And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

    The commonest reason a Christian experiences defeat and backsliding is simply lacking this power baptism.

    The Baptism in the Holy Spirit gives believers the ability to prove the resurrection of Christ; in their transformed lives of love, by victory over sin, sickness, and Satan, and through the manifestation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, working of miracles, and so on.

    The Essential New Birth

    Many people call themselves “Christian” simply because they were raised in a religious home, but they have never been born again, and are still in their sins. Doomed to die in sin and spend eternity in Hell.

    I have a dear Indian Hindu friend I’ve witnessed to for many years. He listens to me politely, then assures me that God will let him into Heaven because he attended a “Christian” school as a child, and sang hymns in morning assembly!

    This delusion is common in South Asia.

    Many Asians also Confuse Catholics with Christians.

    Please don’t make the mistake he makes. Be sure you have been Born of God before you seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

    When you receive Christ, and subsequently become filled with His Spirit, you will have the power you need to be victorious, and set free from all compulsions.

    Christ IS your Victory over Sin

    Once a person has a genuine relationship with God through the New Birth, and receives the power to walk with Christ, they can overcome every temptation to sin.

    Apart from Christ there is no salvation from sin. Jn. 14:6, Acts 4:12, 1 Tim. 2:5, Heb. 10:11-12.

    When you have Christ in your heart, you have The Victory in your spirit. The core of your being. 2 Co. 2:14, Col. 2:15, 1 Jn. 5:3-5 KJV;

    For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

    For whosoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

    Who is he that overcometh the world, but he who believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.

    All you have to do is chose to follow Christ, the Living Word of God, and turn from the sin.

    It is not a battle, as many assume, they struggle and strive to overcome sin by using their flesh, or will-power, and fail miserably.

    Is that you?

    If so, all you need to do is learn how to live, and walk, in the Spirit. Gal 5:16,25 KJV;

    This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh… If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

    That means, keep in step with the leading of God’s Spirit in your heart.

    He always leads in triumph: Never failure. So when you are in step with Him, you simply cannot fail.

    That is why God wants us to believe in the LORD Jesus Christ.

    Believing in Him in the heart means far more than mentally assenting to His Lordship, more than holding to some church creed or doctrine.

    You only believe in Jesus as far as you obey Him, and rely upon Him moment by moment.

    God doesn’t force us to do this, we always have freewill to choose between triumph and failure.

    God’s Promise of Victory

    Chapter ten of First Corinthians explains how it works in practice. Here’s God’s promise to Spirit led Christians in verse 13:

    There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

    That means, if we fail, it is because we chose the wrong way, we rejected God’s way. Here’s the only way to God. Jn. 14:6 KJV;

    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.

    It is vital for new Christians to learn to listen to the Lord in their daily walk. He guides us by His Spirit in our spirits. Discover: How you can be led by the Spirit of God.

    In the temptations of life, learn to listen to your spirit, your heart, and you will find the inner witness of the Holy Spirit pointing you to victory.

    Do what He indicates, and you’ll soon learn to trust that inner witness more each day.

    It’s not difficult, and great fun, walking with your Heavenly Father.
