Please read 1 John 2:12-14 KJV paying particular attention to the first verse, 1 Jn. 2:12:
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one.
I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning.
I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
Almighty God yearns for His children, born again believers in Christ, to embrace, declare, and never forget these basic facts of Life.
However, many Christians simply don’t comprehend redemption, or their God-given authority. They skip though this passage treating it as a formal blessing or doxology. It goes over their heads, and so they suffer terrible loss.
When God rhemas (gives you revelation) 1 John 2:12 to your spirit you will savour every word, and rank this verse with the majestic redemptive pillars, John 3:16 and John 5:24.
Perhaps you think the Holy Spirit in the Apostle John was addressing the kiddies in his flock; No! “Little children” is a term of endearment and applies to every born again believer, including you.
To get the point, and receive untold blessing, replace the word “children” with your first name in 1 John 2:12, and read it out loud slowly.
It’s a good way to begin your morning prayer-time devotions too.
Notice how God starts with the clause, “I write unto you“.
And forget John, this is The LORD writing to you.
Remember how Christ overcame the Tempter in the wilderness?
The Son of Man defeated the Devil’s triple temptations by telling him three times, “It is written“, and quoting Scripture.
The power of God’s word; written, believed, and spoken, is infinite and eternal.
You have a birth certificate, you have a water-baptism certificate, but in 1 John 2:12 you have God’s certification that He has forgiven all of your sins on account of His Name.
That is all the proof a believer needs… they are accepted in the beloved.
Now read out loud your Christian Redemption Certificate, 1 Jn. 2:12 KJV, take it to heart, and memorise it so you can defeat The Tempter the next time he slithers up to condemn you:
I write unto you, little [your name], because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
