How many Heavens in the Bible?

Q: I have heard Christians refer to there being three different heavens. If this is so, please point me to Scriptures to study about this. Sandy

A: The Bible refers to the natural heavens, the ones we can see, and call sky, or the atmosphere, and there’s space where stars, planets, and heavenly bodies are, so that makes two different physical heavens. Ge. 1:1, 1 Ch. 16:26, Is. 45:12.

Then there’s the spiritual Heaven, the dwelling of God, where Christians go when they leave the body. De. 26:15, 2 Ch. 30:27, 2 Co. 5:8, Rev 19:11. This would be the third Heaven Paul glimpsed and referred to in 2 Co. 12:2.

    So that’s three heavens.

There’s a fourth Heaven in the Bible spoken of in Rev. 21:1. The new Heaven and the new Earth. The term “heavenly places” is mentioned in Eph. 1:3.

Additionally, an earthly spiritual realm exists in which Satan and demons exist. Job 1:7, Lk. 10:18. They are now banned from Heaven of course, and destined for the Lake of Fire, along with all the unsaved. Rev. 20:10, 14-15.

    Here’s more references for study:

Wigglesworth on Heaven: Smith Wigglesworth lived ready to be caught up to Heaven like Enoch, and so was ever-ready with a word for every situation he faced.

The Lord made the heavens. (Plural). 1 Ch. 16:26, Ps. 102:25, Pr. 8:27, Is. 40:22, 2 Pe. 3:10, etc.

First Heaven passed away. Rev. 21:1

New heavens (plural) will replace the old ones. Is. 65:17, 66:22, 2 Pe. 3:13.

A word of caution: Cults such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Adventist SDA, and Mormons, spin all kinds of lies about “Heaven”. So avoid going beyond what the Holy Bible tells us about the topic, and you’ll stay sound and secure. Notice in 2 Co. 12:4 Paul was obliged to keep silent about what he’d witnessed in Heaven. Our job down here is to love and point sinners to Christ through His simple message.

    In Seventh Heaven?

Q: Where did the expression; “I’m in 7th heaven” originate, and is it biblical? Pud.

A: It originated in the godless imagination of an unbeliever. It is a common expression used by the world: Not by Christians. It has no place in God or His Word, the Holy Bible. Stick to the Truth, and you will be set free.

    People in Heaven

Q: What will we be doing in Heaven?

A: Living with our Creator as He intended; worshipping, and serving Him forever. Rev. 7:9-10, 22:3-4, 2 Co. 5:8, 1 Th. 4:17. You’ll have to wait for the full details because it is far too wonderful for us to take in. But God gives us clues in Eph. 2:6-7, Jn. 14:3, and in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, Rev. 19:9. Merely contemplating these verses takes our breath away, the reality will be glorious beyond imagining.

However, there’s something you will be unable to do in Heaven; share the Gospel with sinners. You can only do that down here, so let’s be busy while we have the precious opportunity to reach the lost.

    Heaven-bound

Q: If you are born again, where do you go when you die? Paul

A: Straight to the glories of Heaven. 2 Co. 5:1-10, 1 Th. 4:13-14, Rev 7:9.
