A woman born deaf is healed by a miracle of Christ, then learns that God detests idols today as much as ever.
A powerful lesson for everyone lured into idolatry in these final days.
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them:
Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

Almighty God detests idolatry of all kinds, He always has, and He always will. His First and Second Commandments specifically forbid idolatry. (Deut. Ch. 5) Constantly He warned Israel not to honour or worship idols, but to utterly destroy them. (Deut. Ch. 7)
Whenever the people were enticed by idols, curses, sickness and calamities came upon them, and they perished. God reminds us that the Promised Land was allotted to Israel (that’s you if you are born again. Eph. Ch.2, Gal. Ch.3), not because of our goodness. Its previous tenants were driven out because of their wicked idolatry. How much more therefore, God expects those who truly know Him, to abhor idols.
Of course sinners make, and cherish idols. The enemy of your souls would have you worship and adore anything and anyone, so long as it is not the Lord Jesus Christ, Almighty God in the Flesh. Why? Because any worship not directed to the Lord Jesus Christ is idolatrous. Humanity is now without excuse, for God has come, walked amongst us, and shown Himself to us in Christ. Jesus said;
…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; Jn. 14:9 KJV
God came to the Jews who claimed to love God, but they rejected Him, crucified Him, and continue to trust in lying vanities instead. If they loved God as Father, they’d love Jesus Christ too, He said so.
If God were your Father, ye would love me: Jn. 8:42 KJV
Muslims are also plain idolaters, bowing down to a stone five times a day.
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Lev. 26:1 KJV
Roman Catholics perform the blasphemous Mass daily, an idol that has dragged billions to Hell.
The AntiChrist is an idolater. (See Dan. 9:27, 11:38, 12:11,31, 2 Th. 2:4) He will set up an idol in the, soon to be rebuilt, Temple at Jerusalem, as Christ warned us. It is a specific sign of the Messiah’s imminent return. (Mtt. 24:15)
The False Prophet of Revelation Chapters 16,19 and 20 is also an idolater, teaching people to worship the AntiChrist. (The False Prophet is almost certain to be the Pope. Watch carefully who next becomes ‘Christ’s infallible vicar on earth’, after the current tottering claimant falls off his pedestal.)
Buddhism, Paganism, Animism, and Hinduism place idolatry at the centre of their satanically inspired religions. (That’s true of many other ‘isms’ too, Communism, capitalism and socialism are idolatrous.) But what do you think is more repulsive to the Lord; religious sinners, who’ve never known Him, worshipping idols: or those professing to be Christians, falling into idolatry? Surely the latter cuts to His Heart the most. When ‘Christians’ laying claim to being born of God bow down to idols, the end of all things is at hand. (See Mtt. 24:12-14)
That which purports to be the ‘Church’ today is rampant with idolatry, exemplified by American ‘Christians’, drunk with the wine of spiritual adultery. Trampling God’s word underfoot, and bowing down to demon spirits calling themselves “Democracy, Liberty, Justice and Freedom”. They usurp God’s word with a demonic man-made, masonic Constitution, and revel in pagan flag-worship, sacrificing their sons and daughters on Satan’s altar, whilst mouthing Bible verses contorted to justify their idolatry. Stupified by the AntiChrist spirit’s ‘patriotic’ propaganda, they discard the only weapon God tells believers to use, His Spirit anointed word, and take up evil human weapons in their latest terrorist rampage masquerading as a ‘war on terrorism’.
Beloved, time is short. Don’t be seduced and duped into honouring or allying yourselves with idols of any kind. The Holy Spirit reminds New Covenant believers;
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Neither be ye idolaters… flee from idolatry.
1 Jn. 5:21, 1 Co. 10:7,14 KJV
Christ is coming soon. He’s coming for a spotless Blood-bought Bride, not a crowd of blood-thirsty make-believers waving Satan’s idols, chanting New World Order mantras, and slaughtering sinners for whom Christ died. People precious to God, locked in the bondage of religion, who’ve never heard His Message once in their brief tortured lives.
Read this account of Christ weeding out idolatry from a new believer, and examine your heart and life sincerely. I plead with you to repent of every trace of idolatry the Holy Spirit will show you.
God gave you ears to hear, eyes to see, and a tongue to praise Him. Your Creator does not want you deaf, blind or dumb. Satan is the author of sin, sickness, and infirmity. Christ is the Author of Life, and Saviour from sin, Satan, Hell, sickness and all the devil’s work.
If you are sick or infirm in any way, this message will help you receive your healing today. Take to heart what you read, repent, honour, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ, and He’ll do for you what He’s done for others.
A beautiful 24 year-old Indian woman was a regular church-goer who had been deaf in one ear from birth. She came to a Spirit-filled Gospel crusade, and understood the simple Bible facts you have just read. She grasped that her infirmity was not from God, that He did not make her deaf, that He did not want her to suffer it, and daring to believe Christ would heal her, asked for prayer.
The evangelist led her in the sinner’s prayer to ensure that she was genuinely saved rather than simply religious, and noticing she wore a plain cross on a necklace, he asked her to remove it, which she did. Then he commanded the deaf spirit to leave her in Jesus’ Name. Just like Christ and His disciples did in Bible days. (Do they do that in your fellowship, or do they pass the hat around to buy hearing-aids?) And just like in the Bible, the woman’s deaf ear was instantly unstopped, she heard perfectly through it for the first time in her life. Deaf demons still obey the command to go, when issued in faith in Jesus’ Mighty Name. They have no choice when the conditions are met.
There was great rejoicing in her household that evening, however, next day she returned to the evangelist complaining that the ear was once again deaf. The reason was obvious.
“Why have you put the cross and chain back on?” he enquired.
The deaf woman sheepishly mumbled that her mother gave it to her, and it had sentimental value.
“Take it off.”
She removed it. Oh how patient and merciful the Lord is with us. Again the deaf spirit was cast out in Jesus’ Name, and again she was instantly healed.
Her face shone with a mixture of amazement and gratitude, as the Lord made a powerful point about His abhorance of all forms of idolatry, and its awful consequences.

I, Colin Melbourne, witness to you that what you’ve just read is true, many times I have seen Christ heal people as they repent from idolatry, and trust and obey Him.
Chinese sinners often carry talismans, charms, Jade or ‘Foo’ for protection and luck. It’s essential to get all new believers to destroy such idols, no matter how valuable to them.
One young man attended a crusade, and seeing God was working, responded to the Gospel, and was saved. Immediately he asked for healing of a serious back problem that had long plagued him. He wore a Buddhist medalion on a gold necklace, and was told to throw it away. Imagine the turmoil in his mind, a white foreigner telling a Chinese man to get rid of his gold. Reluctantly he obeyed, and was prayed for, but there was no obvious improvement.
When asked if he had any ‘foo’, he retrieved his wallet, and threw away some ‘foo’ he’d kept there. This time he was completely healed when the spirit of infirmity was commanded to leave him in Jesus’ Name. That all happened within ten minutes of responding to the Gospel with all his heart. It took guts to do in public what he did. Christ will fix your problem if you’ll show faith like that young man.
This exhortation applies not only to Asians, but to everyone everywhere. The idol doesn’t have to be an object, it can be a belief, a philosophy, a ‘patriotic’ allegiance to a nation, a behavioural routine, a false doctrine, a tattoo, and many other things (See Ez. Ch.14). Satan’s even pushing New Age diets as idols today, and gullible ‘Christians’ are swallowing the stuff. “Eat Ju Ju Grass for healthy living. Only $6.66 per serving.” Some ‘believers’ have more faith in their fruit-juicer keeping them healthy than they do in God’s Precious Promises. What a disgrace!
Christ has provided all you need for life and godliness, Trust in Him, and Him alone, and you’ll want for nothing.
What was the point Christ was making in these miracles? That wearing a plain gold cross will make you deaf? No, of course not. But simply that idolatry is sin, that He detests it, and wants His children to flee from it.
“Lord, make every reader of this aware from now on of all idols in their lives. Open their eyes to see as you see what Satan tries to hide from them. And implant in them a holy abhorance of idolatry. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Why? Because Christ is Almighty God in the Flesh, and He alone deserves all honour and praise for there is no other God, and no other way to be saved from sin, Judgment and Hell.
Those who trust in idols deny the Lord Jesus Christ, and will not be allowed into Heaven.
Jesus said so, not once, but twice, in the final two chapters of God’s word:
For without (outside) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

That’s the Lord Jesus Christ speaking under the New Covenant beloved. So make your choice, compromise God’s plain word: or repent and obey it.
Here’s a last Word from a man who learned the lesson the hardest way. “Lying vanities” refers to idols, and “forsake their own mercy” means they forsake the grace that could be theirs.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
