Q: I heard that the name of “Eve” should really be “Life”, and the KJV is wrong translating her name “Eve”. What do you make of that?

A: Every accusation that the KJV is wrong is false, and anybody making allegations against the KJV is mistaken and teaching falsehood.
Stay away from suchlike, they are listening to Satan, who always tries to change what God has said.
As long as you attend to false-teachers, and Bible-switchers, you will live in; doubt, insecurity, and error.

Stick to the KJV, believe what God has said, listen to His Spirit, obey Him wholeheartedly, and you will walk in Christ’s Victory over every evil thing.
Assimilate Bible English, and let the Holy Ghost teach you the meaning of God’s written word.
Soon, instead of finding it ‘difficult’ you will praise God for making His word easy to comprehend, and for how wonderfully each verse in proper context compliments the rest.
The Septuagint Folly
Now to your main point; you have heard “Eve” should have been named “Life”.
That error originates from an Egyptian cult translation known as the Septuagint (aka. LXX).
It is a Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament riddled with errors and false-teachings. See; The Septuagint Myth.
You’ve come across; Lancelot Brenton’s English translation of the Septuagint (See Endnote. Ed.) which renders Genesis 3:20;
And Adam called the name of his wife Life, because she was the mother of all living.
The Septuagint has the Greek word Zoe for the name of Eve, and Zoe means life.
Here, Strong’s Concordance informs us the original Hebrew text uses the word Chavvah (pron. khav-vaw) causatively from 2331; life-giver; Chavvah (or Eve), the first woman:- Eve
The Arian cult in Alexandria mistranslated this using the Greek word Zoe, which Brenton then translated into English as “Life”.
In contrast, God’s translators of His word into English, correctly translated the Hebrew Chavvah as “Eve“, which as Strong’s concordance shows us means “life-giver”.
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

Notice that Genesis 3:20 explains that the woman was named Eve because she was the mother of all living.
The KJV translators were consistent in translating Chavvah as Eve, but Brenton inconsistently translated the same word Zoe in Genesis chapter four as “Eve” in his English version of the Septuagint.
Thus in Brenton’s Genesis chapter three, her name is “Life”, in the following chapter the exact same Greek word is rendered “Eve”, which is typical of Bible corrupters.
Why it Must Be Eve
Ask the Lord why His KJV translators used the name “Eve” instead of “Life” or “Life-giver”, and He will show you the truth.
To call the first woman “Life” would be completely wrong, indeed blasphemous, because the scriptures teach us that God is Life, and the Life-giver,
Jesus is God in The Flesh: The Life-Giver.
That was the very point of His statements in Jn. 14:6, and Jn. 6:33-35 KJV;
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Emphasising the same truth, First John reminds us of the Bible basic, 1 Jn. 5:11-12 KJV;
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Oh Halleluia, how this truth delights our hearts!

Can you see why Satan tries to switch God’s words?
The reason why the KJV Translators called the woman Eve, becomes obvious in the Spirit.
First notice Adam called his wife “woman“, he did not name her “Eve” until after they had both sinned by disobeying God’s word.
Would it be righteous to name his wife “Life” or “Life-giver” in the fallen unrighteous state they both found themselves?
Of course not, doing so would compound their rebellion still further.
However, the name “Eve” would be perfect for her in view of God’s plan of redemption.
We understand that the word word “Eve” refers to a prior time, such as; the eve of battle, the day before a battle, or the day preceding Christmas being designated Christmas Eve.
Eve and God’s Promised Redemption
The woman Eve was neither Life, nor the Life-giver; at the time she was spiritually dead in sin.
However, in God’s gracious plan she, with Adam, would be progenitors of all mankind, through whom God would ultimately manifest Himself, in Christ, and pay for our eternal redemption, offering us His Life. Halleluia!
That’s why Eve is the perfect name for our precursor, and the way God manifested to us in due season.
In that sense she is indeed the mother of all living: Both physically living, and ultimately:- spiritually alive through faith in Christ.
That is the reason she who was in spiritual death, sin, and unrighteousness was named Eve.
By God’s mercy, the status of womankind has now been redeemed in being a vessel through whom God came from the Glory, manifested Himself, and purchased our eternal redemption.
That is what the Holy Ghost alludes to when He wrote, 1 Tim. 2:13-15 KJV;
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Is there anything more lovely, more perfect?
Not this side of Glory.

Lancelot Brenton was a Bible corrupter, who thought it useful to translate the Vatican’s cult text into English. The full title he gave his 1844 publication being,
“The Septuagint Version of The Old Testament, according to the Vatican Text, translated into English, with the principal various readings of the Alexandrian copy, and a table of comparative Chronology.”
