Adam: The Lifeless Corpse
Creation was almost finished; the cosmos, stars, planets, heavens, and on Earth; plants, and living creatures, but the first man Adam… lay still.
Something was missing.
The Holy Ghost: Breath of Life
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Holy Bible, Genesis 2:7 KJV
Life: That is precisely how Adam, the first human being on Earth, became alive.
The Godhead imparted of Himself directly into Adam’s nostrils, the Breath of Life: The Holy Ghost, and he became a living person: Created in the image of God.
You can’t get more profound than that.
Unity With God
Adam walked with God in perfect righteousness, and harmony, one in Spirit: United with God.
Are you united with your Maker?
Dominion
…and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen. 1:26b KJV
The LORD entrusted mankind with rulership of every creature on Earth. Adam was given custody over the Earth, under God’s authority, and began by naming all the animals God had created.
The Perfect Helpmeet
For a helper, God made from Adam’s side: Woman, with the same flesh, and Holy Spirit, Genesis 2:18-25 KJV;
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Notice that God made woman directly Himself; not from dust, but took flesh and bone from the first man, and created the first woman, in God’s image, with the divine nature present inside both parents of the human race.
Can you see how unique that makes mankind in creation?
The point is; of the multitude of creatures The LORD made, only mankind was created in God’s image, in His likeness, with His perfect nature empowering their frames of flesh.
The very life in mankind, was divine, altogether superior in every way to the rest of creation.
In God’s design, He implanted talents in Adam and Eve, and their progeny: God made you, and has given you particular attributes and skills that nobody else has.
You know what happened next; soon after the first couple were given dominion: They blew it!
Traditional theology blames Eve for the fall into sin, thus bringing God’s curse on the perfect Creation, but God the Holy Ghost, points His Finger at the husband, who brought death to humanity, not the wife! Rom. 5:14-19 KJV;
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
and 1 Cor. 15:21-22 KJV;
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Yes, the Serpent (Satan) tempted Eve, but the Bible tells us Adam was with Eve, when she was tempted. It was Adam’s responsibility to keep the Serpent out of the garden; that devilish creature ought not to have had access to the Garden, let alone to Adam’s wife!
Furthermore, whilst the cunning Serpent was lying to Eve, Adam remained silent, instead of rebuking the Deceiver, and declaring the truth of what God had said to them.
You may blame Eve for the Fall of mankind, but I side with God’s Two Witnesses: The written word, and the Holy Ghost, who both cite Adam as responsible for man’s downfall.
