Prophecy being fulfilled on BBC and CNN news?
Q: With Muslim rebellion in Syria, the continuing chaos in Iraq, and Russian forces gathered in the Crimea isn’t this clear fulfilment of the End Time prophecy of armies surrounding Israel? I’d be interested to hear your views.
The Cat, Dog, and Wife Test
A: I do not follow BBC, CNN, or any media news.
It doesn’t edify, doesn’t qualify (Phil. 4:8), nor can I imagine Christ sitting in front of the Telly-idol to view blatant antiChrist propaganda, especially with so much work to do before He can return.
You refer to His scripture prophecy, Luke 21:19-22 KJV;
In your patience possess ye your souls.
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Flee to the Mountains
Some people hear news reports of the Russian army, with its pagan proxies, massing around tiny Israel, and quiver as they read God’s prophecies about Gog and Magog enunciated and explained to them by their favourite “prophecy expert”.
They plumb further scriptures validating their trembling spirits, quickly convinced, that indeed these; be the days of vengeance. Confirmed by scouring the Prophets of Old.
Off the Narrow Path
Soon “Nivea” notices she’s a cuddle down on her daily quota.
“Jasper’s” morning walk is excused by reason of rain.
Finally, even Mr/Mrs. Spouse realises the attention depravation, perfunctory replaces tender loving, and ponders why.
Leafing darling’s Bible, their suspicions are confirmed with a wistful sigh; bookmarks in Daniel 7, Ezekiel 38, and Luke 21.
There’s work to do.
We Are our Brother’s Keeper
We are to love our enemies, how much more our Christian brethren: We guard, protect, and encourage fellow believers: That’s what love does.
They’ve noticed before you have.
First the cat, next the dog, then the wife.
You’ve lost the plot, become distracted, missed the mark.
It happens unless we diligently heed the Spirit.
Here God in the Flesh advises Christians where to fix their focus Mtt. 6:31-34 KJV;
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
The usual distractions the flesh-world provides are; food, drink, clothing.
How can studying Bible prophecy join that list?
When it, or any other fascination, causes you to fall short on verses 33 and 34;
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
The kingdom… His righteouness.
Ah, yes.
Both Word and Spirit Reigning
Who’s on your throne, whose righteousness are you displaying?
Christians frequently slide away on a prophecy tangent, and neglect to manifest the love, righteousness, peace, and provision of Almighty God; in their hearts, lives, homes, and workplace.
Wifey noticed, after the pets; surely a Spirit-filled Christian should recognize it in himself?
This is just a reminder to keep your eyes on the Living LORD Jesus Christ.
I hope that’s sufficient.
Manifesting His love makes the difference, doesn’t it?
Many Christians have no idea What will we do in Heaven?, or how wonderful the answer is, and that is just the beginning.
