Q: I’d be interested in hearing your comments on David Attenborough’s response to Christians complaining about his Life on Earth TV-series-evolution-propaganda, instead of crediting Almighty God for Creation

A: Thank you for your question.

Devout Atheists such as Richard Dawkins, and wavering Atheist-Agnostic Sir David Attenborough, are self-condemned having zero interest in objective Truth.

If, during their span on Earth, they had displayed an atom of genuine curiosity in discovering the key to life, the LORD would have drawn near to them long ago, and opened their spiritual eyes; just as He did mine, when I was lost in unbelief, until the age of 34 years.

It’s Not Too Late

They are still able to see, read, and think, in the midst of a world which has the LORD’s ‘hallmark’ emblazoned upon, and within, every living organism.

The key to recognizing His handiwork is being willing to hear, and consider, what the LORD is saying; in Creation, in the Gospel, then recognizing, and responding to His Spirit convicting them of their sin. Their consciences bearing witness to The Truth of His Living Word. (See Holy Bible, Romans Chapter 1.)

No one can be saved unless Father first draws them to Christ, who said, Jn. 6:44 KJV;

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

That is the only way precious lost souls like David Attenborough and Richard Dawkins can be set free from their snare of unbelief.

If he ever contemplates his relationship with his Creator, then the LORD will begin to reveal the Glory of His Eternal Word: The LORD Jesus Christ, who died bearing the sin, guilt, and sicknesses of; Sir David, you, and me.

Praise the LORD for His Mercy!

Instead, Sir David makes shallow statements such as the following, reported in Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald on the 25th. March 2003, where, defending his evolutionary agitprop, he retorts;

It is something I get frequent letters about. They always start with sweet reasonableness, you know; ‘We love your programmes, isn’t nature marvellous’, and so on. But they always go on to say, ‘We do wonder why it is that you don’t give credit to the Almighty God who created each one of these species individually.’

My response is that when Creationists talk about God creating every individual species as a separate act, they always instance; hummingbirds, or orchids, sunflowers, and beautiful things. But I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, [a worm] that’s going to make him blind. And [I ask them], ‘Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child’s eyeball? Because that doesn’t seem to me to coincide with a God who’s full of mercy’.

Blind Unbelief

Such is the communal arrogance of sinful man’s blindness, that he dares stand in judgment of the Righteous Judge of all men.

Sir David Attenborough is without excuse before God, and, like each of us, will face Final Judgment to give account for his life and words. Psalms 49:17-20 KJV;

For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

Bigoted Scientist Saved

I completely understand their situation, because I was of the same mind, whilst a student of Zoology and Parasitology at university. I would have applauded Sir David’s thoughtless comments.

My Zoology tutor, Dr. John Krebs (later Sir John, now Lord Krebs, and accomplice of Richard Dawkins) would have also agreed: To us, Creationists were beyond the scientific pale. Ironically, we viewed them disdainfully as unenlightened bigots who failed to see the wood for the trees.

You Are Not Reading This By Chance

I’m acutely aware that there, but for the grace of God, goest I.

If it were not for the infinite mercy of Almighty God to me personally, I could not have written, and you would not be reading, this.

Credit Where It’s Due?

Sir David travels the world filming and narrating, at eye-watering expense, and huge ‘carbon-footprint’, the wonders of creation and its creatures.

He has written, narrated, and broadcast to the world with enthralled fascination, of our Creator’s handiwork: Without once acknowledging Him as Creator and LORD.

Observe the closing credits, where; cameramen, sound engineers, national parks, zoologists, researchers, and governments are paid tribute: But of the Creator of the wonders… neither word nor footnote.

Too Obvious To See?

How can any person look at the sky, horizon, or even an ant’s toe, and not see the signature of The Creator?

God’s handiwork in creation is obvious to all not blinded by the deceits of the greatest sin: Unbelief in Christ.

To fantasise that creation ‘created itself’… from nothing… is absurd at every level of thought, logic, and reason.

What is the answer to his Atheist riddle?

Sir David makes several factual errors in his favourite declaration of infidelity, for example; the nematode worm he refers to, Onchocerca volvulus, does not “bore through the eye”, nor does it “live in the eyeball”, as he claims.

The parasite is spread by tiny Sandflies bearing microscopic larvae of the parasite in their saliva. As the flies imbibe nutritious tear fluid around the eyes of wild animals and livestock, some of the larvae swim in the tears and are carried into the animal’s lymphatic system.

The larvae lodge within the host’s lymphatic network, forming small nodules under the skin. There they develop through various stages into adult Onchocerca worms.

It is rare for the larvae to pass into the ocular lymphatics of human eyes, and if they do, the larvae cease to develop and die.

The cause of ‘River Blindness’ is actually the host’s immune reaction to the breakdown products of dead larvae.

Quite a different picture from that projected by Sir David of a ‘worm boring through an eyeball’.

As a Parasitologist, I could have chosen far better examples of parasites harming their hosts, but his objective is to accuse our Creator of injustice and cruelty: An infinitely more serious error, as the Prophet King sang, Psalms 14:1-3 KJV;

(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

God Put Man in Charge

Almighty God created man to rule the Earth, and have dominion over every creature: It was man’s responsibility to tend and keep the Paradise God had created. (See Genesis 2:15)

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:26-28 KJV

Adam & Eve Broke God’s Word

Adam and Eve were to blame, for the fall of mankind into sin that brought the curse of spiritual and physical death upon the human race, and yielded man’s dominion to Satan.

God in His mercy has provided the only way back to fellowship and harmony with our Creator, by giving His Only Begotten Son as Sacrifice to redeem fallen man.

The New Covenant is simple: Believe on The LORD Jesus Christ, in what He has done for us, and we are restored to God as though we had never disobeyed. Father makes us brand new creatures inside, with a new heart, a new spirit, willing, and able, to walk in loving obedience to His Word evermore. 2 Co. 5:17 KJV;

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

It is not difficult to perceive the fallacy of the accusation Sir David makes against Almighty God.

Sin’s Cause and Effect

He claims our Creator is unmerciful because the LORD permits bad things to happen in direct consequence of man’s rebellion.

Satan is the source of sin, death, disease, and pathogens: Not Almighty God who created everything perfect and good. Genesis 1:31 KJV;

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Creation Corrupted

It was man’s rebellion that handed the Devil authority in this world, to corrupt harmless creatures and symbionts, transforming them into; pathogenic parasites, carnivores, and disease producing organisms of all forms.

The Creator Redeemer

Man was forewarned, and perfect redemption has been made available to whosoever will repent and believe on the Living Word of God: The LORD Jesus Christ.

That is perfectly; loving, just, holy, righteous, and merciful.

When God came to Earth in The Flesh, He made plain His will for each creature by healing all who came to Him believing, Holy Bible, Acts 10:38 KJV;

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Sickness, disease, and corruption is the Devil’s work: Not God’s.

There is none righteous, no, not one

Sir David errs further by claiming the child is ‘innocent’: But every child born on Earth bears the same unrighteous sinful nature as its parents, inherited from our first parents, Adam and Eve.

The LORD Jesus Christ is unique, being born of God and human:.. The God-Man: God manifest in Human Flesh.

Born subject to God’s Law, then tempted at all points just as we are, yet never succumbing once to sin of any kind. Thus enabling Him to become the perfect sinless Sacrifice for the sins of the world.

That’s why every child on Earth suffers under the burden of our progenitors’ sins, until that individual repents and believes in the only Saviour, and is born of God: Born again.

Cursed After Creation

A further vital point Sir David omits is that harmful creatures, such as Onchocerca volvulus, the nematode that causes ‘River Blindness’, were not “created to live in human eyes”.

No harmful creatures were created in the six days of Creation: It was The Fall of man that brought the curse of corruption, death, and disease upon Creation. That was when previously harmless creatures were made subject to Satan’s dominion, and became harmful pathogens, as a direct consequence of Adam’s sin.

Evolution Mythology

Evolution is a modern myth, a man-made fantasy, and played no part in Creation, nor in the consequences of Adam’s sin and Fall. There is not a shred of scientific proof of evolution theory. As all genuine scientists admit.

What will you choose?

You now have an opportunity to hear and believe the Message of Christ and become a Child of Almighty God through the Faith of Christ… or continue to perish in the corruption of sin and unbelief.
