A Word to The Wise

Q: The expression, A word to the wise is sufficient, sounds like a Bible Proverb, but I can’t find it?

A: I agree it does sound biblical, but, it is not from the Bible, it’s simply a common English aphorism.

    One Word is Enough

However, it is also true in the biblical sense: A wise Christian only needs a single nudge from the Lord for him, or her, to respond. After all, that is what Christ’s Lordship means.

    Cloth-Eared Christians

Those who need the same word repeated, in order to get them to repent and walk in obedience are surely injudicious, and inevitably come to a sticky end.

You’ve doubtless noted people like that in your fellowship.

    No Ministry of Correction

Your task is not to nag them into submission, rather to love them just as the LORD loves them, and listen carefully to Him as you pray for them.

If He sees that your heart is right towards Him, and towards them, He may use you to bring them to their senses and escape the Devil’s ploy. Or He may use somebody else if they remain stubborn in sin.

    Scrapyard Relics

It is also applicable to outwardly ‘Christian’ organisations down the centuries.

Many worthy groups and ministries have withered on the Vine, and ultimately folded, simply because they refused the word the LORD was giving them.

Take for example; Anabaptists, Mennonites, Brethren, Anglicans, Methodists, and Presbyterians.

Originally, they were for a brief time, ‘hot-stuff’, but each became self-fixated and moribund; they remained stationary, wedged in a religious rut, fell far behind Him, and crumbled to; chaff and dust, leaving only religious scrapyard relics.

An enormous deserted Anglican church in my birthplace has a steeple so tall it is visible from miles away: Today it is an empty shell, a religious folly, and the steeple is used for indoor mountaineers to train on.

    What a telling indictment!

Understand that Christ came to bring us Salvation: Not Religion.

Anglicans are all but Roman Catholic in name, and doomed to suffer the same Judgment as the Harlot of Revelation 17 when Christ returns.

    Your Denomination is Dying Too

In this present day that is happening to all the denominations at large, because they hold their precious creeds dearer than they do The Living LORD Jesus Christ.

It is deeply embarrassing to the Lord, from whom nothing is hidden.

If you label yourself as; Brethren, Presbyterian, Baptist, Church of Christ, or even a Spirit-filled Pentecostal, first and foremost, then you are in a sorry place indeed.

It is time to awaken from your stupor and believe on The LORD Jesus Christ first and always, and get in step with Him.

Christians do not follow a church, a denomination, a pastor, a creed, or movement: They follow The Living LORD Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Ghost within and upon them.

This difference is: Night and day.

    It is Heaven on Earth

If you have not yet realised this, ask the LORD to show you what I’m referring to, and He will, if you are attending to His word.

If your spiritual hearing is dulled, your heart is already hard and calloused, so you will not understand, or care.

    The Lord will respect your choice, and you will pay the price eternally. Jn. 10:27-28, 12:26 KJV;

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Let’s be busy Saints… AMEN! GLORY!
