Why is Christmas Popular?
Q: Since it is unscriptural to celebrate Christ’s birthday as December 25th. why is the Christmas Season so popular in the world?
A: You are correct to notice that despite Christmas not being in the Holy Bible, it is nonetheless celebrated worldwide from; Japan, S.E. Asia, Arabia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas: There are three reasons;
- Christmas is based on endemic pagan festivals marking the northern hemisphere Winter.
- It’s a marketing business opportunity and little more.
- Sinners enjoy sinning.
Why Christmas Grieves Christ
Without question: God abhors the universal Christmas festivities because of mankind’s rampant idolatry, religion, hypocrisy, and sin.
Genuine Christians understand that Christmas is unbiblical and point sinners to the Living God: The LORD Jesus Christ.
As you correctly note, The LORD Jesus Christ was not born on Christmas Day, He could not have been, because the Bible reveals He was born in Israel’s Autumn, not Wintertime.
Israeli shepherds watched over their flocks in the fields at night in the autumnal months September to November.
Hardy souls they may be, but they did not bivouac in the fields through Winter!
The Holy Bible (KJV) Luke chapter two makes this clear. Note verses 7 and 8 speaking of Christ’s birth;
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
The Date Does Not Matter
Nowhere in the Holy Bible are we told the precise date of Jesus’ Birth.
Why not?
Because it is not important for us to know.
If it was necessary, God would have told us the date, but He hasn’t.
What does matter is what the Holy Bible makes plain;
- Who Jesus really is.
- What He’s done for you.
- How you respond to these Gospel facts.
Catholic Deceit
Christ’s supposed birthday; December 25th. is one of many Roman Catholic deceptions, accompanied by the pagan trappings, demonic paraphernalia, and traditions of Christmas, eg; Santa Claus, Christmas trees, Yule logs, reindeer, holly, ivy, mistletoe, decorations, sweetmeats, exchanging presents, self-indulgence, and so on.
Catholicism is pagan in both origin and manifest practise to this day.
Catholic priests adapted and encouraged existing local demonic festivals to ensnare the gullible in its deceitful web.
Not until the European Reformations of the 15th and 16th. century did God begin to rouse a world that is still blind-drunk with spiritual adultery.
When Christmas Ends
Christmas is popular because sinner’s like sinning: Sin comes naturally to people who do not have a living relationship with The LORD Jesus Christ.
They prefer selfishness, pride, and delusion, to righteousness and Truth, as Christ summarised in Jn. 3:18-20 KJV;
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Christmas will continue until Christ returns then puts a stop to religion and idolatry once and for all. Come Lord Jesus!
Meanwhile, the saints simply get on with our only reason for still being on Earth.
Serving the Living Christ, and sharing His message with every creature.
