Removing Old Tattoos
Q: I have tattoos from my past; some are scary looking. I have a family to support, and cannot afford to spend large sums of money to have the tattoos covered up with new Christian tattoos. If I pray and accept Christ as my Saviour, will He forgive my tattoos? Bob
A: The Holy Spirit is working in your life Bob, it is He who has convicted you that tattooing your body is sin.
There are no “Christian tattoos”, God hates all tattoos and body piercing. Real believers honour Christ in their hearts and bodies, they don’t plaster graffiti on His temple. 1 Co. 6:19-20, Ro. 12:1.
Turn to the Lord Jesus Christ repenting of all your sin, and receive Him as Lord of your life. He will forgive you of every sin, make you a new man with a righteous heart, eternal life, give you power to follow Him, and a wonderful future.
Understand the Gospel and then Get right with God, do it now.

How to remove old tattoos
You have three options; the first is the best:
- Christ promised if you believe, all things are possible to him who believes. So as your faith in His promises grows, you can ask Him to remove them by faith in Him. He’s expert at removing stains and blemishes of all kinds from; pimples, and tattoos, to cancer. (Mtt. 19:26, 21:21-22, Mk. 9:23, 10:27)
- If you’ve not yet developed this Bible kind of faith, another option is to have them removed by laser treatment. Covering old tattoos with new tattoos is not a Christian option.
- Many of my biker friends still have old tattoos which helps other bikers to identify with them. Consequently, it gives an opportunity to share the Gospel by showing tangible evidence of how stupid they were before they knew Christ, then explaining how He’s changed them by making them New Creatures in Christ, 2 Cor. 5:17 KJV;
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all God’s New Creatures shout… Halleluia!
