    How to Control Your Mind

    Q: I’m a Christian, but sometimes bad thoughts come to me, am I committing a sin? Lucy

    A: It depends on what you do with the thought.

    Temptation is not sin, yielding to the temptation is. So if you agree with, and submit to the thought, you sin.

    But if you recognize that evil thoughts come from your flesh, demons, or Satan, and dismiss the thought, and submit to the Holy Spirit, you have not sinned.

    That is why God commands believers to renew their minds in accordance with His New Covenant Word.

    Rom. 12:2a KJV;

    And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

    We are to think about what is good, noble, and praiseworthy. Phil. 4:8.

    The Holy Spirit instructs us, Col. 3:2-3 KJV;

    Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is now hid with Christ in God.

    Born again, Spirit-filled believers have power to take captive their thoughts, and make them obedient to Christ (2 Co. 10:5), so there’s no excuse for a wandering or sinful mind.

    We have self-control. 1 Pe. 5:8.

    That is why we need The Saviour.

    Halleluia for The LORD Jesus Christ, who has redeemed us from sin.

    Your sinful nature was crucified with Christ, it is dead, and powerless to influence your behaviour. 2 Co. 5:17, Gal. 2:19-20, Eph. 2:1-10, Col. 3:1-17.

    Walk in that New Creation revelation, and exercise self-control over your mind, and you’ll overcome sinful thoughts every time.

    You will discover new ability to refuse to think like sinners do.

    You will be able to reject evil thoughts and think like God thinks.

    There’s a wonderful teaching that will help you to understand this called; Right and Wrong Thinking. Christians are to renew their minds in line with God’s Word. It is vital to your faith, to be an effective witness, and not difficult to learn. This little book is a good start.
