Trying to Believe
Q: I’ve read Healing from Christ, and prayed for my healing, but when I try to believe and act on my faith, I cannot do what I’m trying to. Can you help me?
A: This occurs when the Gospel comes as a challenge, instead of a blessing, to some people.
They “try to believe” the Gospel, and try to act their faith, but struggle instead of believing it.
Heart Faith
They attempt to do what they couldn’t before, but fail because they doubt in their heart.
Dealing with victims of paralysis often makes this apparent.
When commanded in Jesus’ Name, to use the paralysed limbs, such folk look at you as if you are bonkers.
That’s because doubt reigns in their heart, and usually in their mind too.
They do not have living faith. Jas. 2:26 KJV;
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
So they block the manifestation through their own unbelief.
Dead Evangelist Raised
The solution is to gently teach the truth, laying a sound biblical foundation for them to believe. Just as Christ and the Apostles did.
Jesus didn’t go around Jewish villages simply laying hands on sick people to heal them.
He could have done, because He’s Almighty God in the Flesh, but He didn’t minister that way.
Father didn’t want Him to.
It would be spectacular if believers only had to go into hospital wards touching patients to heal them.
Street-preachers are sometimes challenged by rowdy sceptics to do just that.
Stiff-necked sinners, irritated by public preaching, harangue;
“Why don’t you clear off to the Infirmary and go and heal them?”
The LORD has sent me to hospitals to heal the sick. He’s healed cancer, and other terminal illnesses, right before my eyes.
The key is to do what the Spirit of the LORD leads you to do, not what mocking rebels tell you to do.
If Jesus sends you to a sick one in hospital; obey, attending to His Spirit, and you will find He will be with you, and reveal how to get them healed.
He longs to heal the sick more than you do. More even than people want to be cured, but there must be Bible faith in evidence for Him to heal. Heb. 11:6 KJV;
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Occasionally, believers have been led by the Holy Spirit to hospitals, merely to lay hands on a person, who was then healed.
For example; An English evangelist related to me how he was raised from the dead.
Following a fatal heart-attack, doctors failed to resuscitate him and pronounced him dead, his body was wheeled from the emergency room into the corridor. In the spirit above the scene, he saw his corpse lying on the trolley. A praying Christian woman approached, laid her hands on him, and instantly he awoke, back inside his body: Healed.
This is not a tale. I met, spoke with, and believe him: The Lord confirming to my heart as we chatted. Acts 26:8 KJV;
Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
Nothing is impossible with Almighty God, Who lives in believers by His Spirit, but the routine Bible way is to preach, teach, and then heal the sick. You can’t teach a corpse, but praise God He still raises the dead.
How The LORD Heals
We notice from these scriptures Christ’s way of healing the sick, Mtt. 4:23, 9:35, Lk. 5:17, Jn. 7:14 KJV;
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
The Saviour-Healer went around Israel teaching, preaching, and healing the sick.
Holy Ghost teaching and preaching laid a foundation for faith, and the healings followed.
Jesus on Earth was a Teacher and Preacher as much as He was a Healer-Saviour.
Anointed teaching and preaching build Bible faith for healing, Rom. 10:17 KJV;
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Listen, Hear, Obey
Whenever people take time to hear what God is teaching us, and then believe it, they always get what the word promises: Bible results.
Sick ones impatient for a quick-fix, don’t take the time to listen to God, instead they run to medics, psychologists and quacks.
The wise get alone with God, pay close attention to His written and spoken word, then faithfully do the word. Jas. 1:22 KJV;
Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
It is the doers of the word who get healed.
