    He Abides in You

    The anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

    1 Jn. 2:27 KJV

    So You Can Abide in Him

    Once you have been born again, Father wants you to learn how to walk with Him by simply; listening, observing, embracing, and doing what the LORD is teaching you.

    How does He teach?

    Through His Spirit’s leading in your spirit, which always complies perfectly with His New Testament word, of the Holy Bible (the KJV in English).

    In addition, He can also use a Spirit-led preacher, or pastor, as far as they stay in accord with Him, but this is not His primary method of teaching His children.

    If you rely on anyone other than the LORD to teach you, you’ll stray from Perfection.

    One Teacher

    That is why Christ said, to those under the Old Covenant, in Mtt. 23:8-10 KJV;

    But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

    Christ is a believer’s Master, (ie. Teacher, remember your headmaster at school?)

    Under the New Covenant, we see the Lord has appointed teachers in His Body, anointed with His Gift to teach believers, 1 Co. 12:28 KJV;

    And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

    Be not many masters

    It is wonderful to sit under the teaching of a divinely appointed teacher of God’s word, but they are very few, and far between. Many presume to be teachers of God’s word, without the divine anointing to do so. (Jas. 3:1) That’s one reason denominations and cults have arisen.

    The Master Within

    Nevertheless, we praise God that He’s given every believer constant access to The Perfect Teacher: The Spirit of God in their heart. Let’s hear from Him again, 1 Jn. 2:27 KJV;

    But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

    What a precious position Spirit-filled, born again believers have in Christ!

    We need not chase after Moses, Elisha, John the Baptist, or any preacher: We have the exact same Spirit of the LORD Jesus Christ in us… Halleluia!

    In us

    Not for a moment, or a transient glimpse, but abiding, dwelling, living, remaining in our hearts!

    When will He leave and forsake us?

    Heb. 13:5 KJV counsels;

    Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    And all the Saints shout that word NEVER!

    God gave His Only Begotten Son for you and me. I recommend every Christian read E.W. Kenyon’s little book called Identification, where he elaborates beautifully on what this really means.

    It was necessary for Father to forsake His Only Begotten Son, so that believers, His new creatures in Christ, could never be forsaken. Mtt. 27:46b KJV;

    My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

    Now you know the answer

    They did this so the Spirit of God may legally abide in us forever; leading, teaching, reminding, instructing, convicting, disciplining and blessing, as we live in the spiritual Promised Land, enjoying the bountiful provision of the LORD abiding in our hearts.

    Have you ever heard of anything more precious, more lovely?

    For us

    • He was made sin: So we could be made the righteousness of God. (2 Co. 5:21)
    • Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses: So we could be perfectly healed. (Is. 53:5, Mtt. 8:17)
    • He bore the punishment for our guilt: So we could be totally acquitted. (1 Pe. 2:24)
    • He submitted to death: So we could be offered God’s eternal life. (Rom. 4:23-5:10)
    • He went to Hell: To make the way for us to live in Heaven. (2 Sam. 22:6, Ps. 16:10, 18:5, 116:3)
    • He was forsaken: So we could be secure forever in Father. (Mtt. 27:46, 2 Co. 4:9, Jo. 1:5, 1 Ch. 28:20, Heb. 13:5)
    • He surrendered to captivity: So we could be set free. (Mtt. 26:50, Mk. 14:46, Jn. 8:36)
    • He was abandoned: So we could have Him abiding in us. (Mtt. 27:46, 1 Jn. 2:27)

    Will you neglect such a Perfect Gift?

    No, you will treasure it, you’ll pay careful attention to The Teacher within, Pr. 4:20-22 KJV;

    My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

    Jesus said, Jn. 6:63b KJV;

    …the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

    God’s words, God’s Spirit, God’s Life… in our hearts, imparting wisdom, peace, and all we need for godliness.

    And to our mortal flesh; healing, and divine quickening, Rom. 8:11 KJV;

    But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

    It’s easy to learn direct from God; Simply pay close attention to The Teacher within.

    Abide: And do what He says

    Image of Smith Wigglesworth book

    England’s greatest Evangelist, Smith Wigglesworth, lived in step with His Teacher. That is why, miracles, signs, and wonders accompanied his preaching. He lived holy, abiding and attending to the unction of God in his heart, faithfully enduring false criticism, and many difficult trials. He said, “At times it felt like a locomotive train was running over me.” This glorious book is one result of his Ever Increasing Faith in Our Lord and Saviour. Study and learn the lesson, so you too will live overcoming.
